I recall this blade being a favorite of GDCarrington and one he used as a measuring stick. Very smooth shave and I look forward to using this blade in other razors.

January 19, 2016 Razor- Pre-War Fat Handled Tech Blade- GSB(2) Brush- VdH Boar Soap- Williams I picked up the Tech before the holidays, but never got around to trying it until today. Back in the 70s, when I first started shaving, one of the razors I used was a pre-war Tech that had been my father's. That razor is long gone, but there is still a sentimental connection to this particular model. To be honest, this was probably not the best day to try a new razor for the first time. Yesterday's shave was later than usual and very close, so there wasn't a lot of beard to work with except on my chin and the ends of my upper lip. At first, it seemed like I was having issues finding the proper angle. I'm not sure if this is the nature of the razor or the fact that with so little beard, I was not getting enough audio feedback. Ultimately, I seem to have found the right spot and carried on to a CCS bordering on DFS. For some reason, though, I don't seem overly impressed with this razor. Maybe it's all the pre-War Tech hype or that I had too high an expectation going into this shave, but, while I can't fault the shave, right now I'm just not feeling this razor as much as some of my others. Definitely one to revisit later with more whiskers. JR

Razor: Merker Futur Polished Chrome 2015 (1.5) Brush: Rubberset 400 #3 WD 24/50 Silvertip (Jedi Lightsaber) Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: Truefitt&Hill No 10 Blade: Feather (2) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, Halston Z-14 cologne Ok! It's still cold, upper 30s last night. Feels like the Ice Planet Hoth from Star Wars. A long time ago, it was Summer! Ok, I'm a self confessed Star Wars junkie, so that's the theme, again! Got my 2 Lightsabers out, and lit them up. Here we go! Put a dab of Truefitt&Hill No 10 into my favorite OS mug. The Lightsaber whipped up a nice warm lather. Starting to thaw out. The Futur is a great looking razor, and I'm leaving it on 1.5 as it works will for me. It has a nice weight and good balance, and surprisingly the polished surface is not slippery to hold. It made quick work in 2 passes WTG XTG. A little touchup on my neck ATG and done. The WH felt good, nice and cool. After cleanup some JB and when it dried, some Halston Z-14 cologne, still R2-D2's favorite. May the FORCE be with you..... always...... Y'all! It's COLD! Come on Summer!!
