My 48 is broken in, 90+ days on it. I don't really know why I don't rotate to it!

Nice! That's what I find also. I completely get in the zone on a razor/blade combo, but still long for some soap variation more than anything.

    Also @Keithmax

I can't judge Adam's blade edge, but I have tried Keith's blade prep. I can say that the edge he prepped and stopped for me was pretty much as sharp and smooth as my other SR. Keith's edge cut my beard easily and didn't burn me up at all. The other one was professionally honed by Larry at Whipped Dog. If Keith doesn't object, I can post a pic of his edge work (plus my damage and novice strop work) before and after it was honed by one of our TSD honemeisters, @gssixgun. Glen was kind enough to email pics before and after. Keith will get his comparison data tomorrow. The Aust is back.

I am gonna just shave and strop for 2016. Too much to learn at once.

Early morning meeting, checking out of my hotel, horrible weather...blah, blah, blah. I rushed the shave. I learned that you cannot rush this blade. Weepers. All resolved with cold water and witch hazel and a fine 1-pass shave, but technique suffered due to the rush job.

Oh well, we live to shave another day!

    Cheers!

Day 21 - 90 Day Intro to SR

    WD "Sight Unseen" 5/8
    Omega Professional 48 Boar

    Route 66 - Lumberjack
    Alum
TSD 2x Iced FW type AS
After an exchange with Kerry( @RaZorBurn123 ), it was decided to take the old 48 down Route 66. It worked out. Soap made enough lather to clean my kitchen floor after the "test shave" routine. This will be my last day in the WD for a bit. I am going back to the recently honed Aust, and see how long it takes me to ruin it again. Kidding, sort of. This blade is more smiley than the Aust, so I will be cognizant of that difference. 48 rocks, 66 does too. Today's shave was good by any standard, but not BBS. Alum was a little spicy! The plan is also to link up some blade pics for the crew, and remain with a boar brush for a bit. Looking forward to big day Friday, more good weather for getting things done and being in a good mood. Other than that...all is quiet is in Colorado.

It's Friday! Have a great one!

    :)

Yes they do - Semogues are pretty soft right from the start but become quite a bit softer and hold more lather after a dozen or so shaves. To my experience the Semogues bloom more than the Omegas do ... haven't figured out why. Omega brushes keep their shape more ore less while Semogues look like this after a while

If you like the Feather blades, then go ahead and use those for a 30 Day Rule. The idea behind the rule is to let your technique develop without letting variation in your equipment be a cause for a good shave today and a bad one tomorrow. If the Feathers work and are comfortable, then go for it.

I am glad you are feeling better. Taking things slow and easy for the next few days should help.
