Has anyone tried what appears to be a Razorock clone of the Stirling Kong brush? Has anyone tried both? I definitely like the appearence of the Razorock handle. http://www.italianbarber.com/products/razorock-plissoft-monster-synthetic-shaving-brush-26mm-monster
Your right @BigCabDaddy that is a really nice looking handle. I had never seen this one from RR and at the current price, definitely a steal.
RazoRock Monster. It just came out. It's the same knot as the Stirling "Kong" different handle and price point.
Actually, I'm pretty sure you got the better brush. I just took possession of a Stirling. Haven't shaved with it yet, but don't like the handle nearly as well as my Plisoft.
So we're in the same boat here. Didn't like the handle much either - one of the reasons why I sold the Kong.
This is twice for me now. I tell myself, "How much difference can handle shape make?" Turns out, quite a lot.
I'm a smaller, stubby handle fan myself. As a head shaver, the angles can get awkward for head lathering using the larger handles. My favorite handle right now is my Scanlon. But I'm a also a larger knot fan. I know the two don't typically go together, but I with someone would do a handle like the Scanlon with the 26mm Plissoft knot. Maybe Joe or Rod will start selling the 26mm knot the way Maggard is with the 22 and 24mm.
This link was posted by @PLANofMAN on another thread. How bout a 28mm knot? http://www.chiseledface.com/hardware/
In my opinion, the loft isn't nearly high enough for that dense of a knot, in that fiber, especially when you take Larry's significant glue bumps into account. It's right around a 2:1 ratio, and I think I prefer closer to 2.4:1 I would love to see a 28mm Plissoft knot.
For me this one here would be a better choice. I feel like others that 26 mm might be 2 mm to big. That being said if you have a big face or prefer larger brushes it would be a great choice considering I.B. synthetic brush feedback and price.
