Unused, in the original (very beat up) box... '54 Super Speed... on the big auction site... 30 bucks. It was advertised as a "1948 to 1950" but the date code tells all. I'm happy. Pristine...

This is not just ANY Z-1 - This is a 1954 TV Special, I believe. Photograph the box for us?

1954 was the year production changed over to the Flare Tip SuperSpeed, and they produced the old style SuperSpeed as the TV special to celebrate the Gillette Cavalcade of Sports.

Edit: my error. The old style superspeed and flare tip were made at the same time, with only the last two quarters sold as tv special.

If you don't have a letter to the left of reg us then it's 1947-1950. Most likely 48-50. 47 are different when viewing with the doors open.

So the '54 TV special came in a plastic box, right? This was in an old 40's style cardboard box... so I'm thinking not the original box at all. I'm really excited now, I have heard these Z1's are special... who's lucky? As a token of my appreciation to the razor gods, I have a 52 or 53 SS I am willing to PIF to a newbie... how do I go about doing that?

Plastic styrene boxes were used before 54. Honestly, it should be the same as your 53.

Got a picture of the box?

here's the box... the guy who sold it is not a razor guy/collector... so i'm not sure if this is the original box at all... :) razor box 1.jpg razor box 2.jpg

Should be a blue styrene box for 54. Should be the red box for 48/9 through 53. Should be the cardboard for 47.
