I didn't know what that brush was for a long time so I used to call it my "donut" brush and then I happened across a Seaforth gift set ad and recognized it. It's starting to lose its backbone so I imagine I'll have to reknot it one of these days.

image.jpeg Razor: Merker Futur Polished Chrome 2015 (1.5)
Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: Truefitt&Hill No 10
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, Old Spice original Shulton 1956 glass AS Stopper #3

Put a dab of Truefitt&Hill No 10 into my favorite OS mug. The Silvertip whipped up some nice warm lather. My Futur is a great looking razor, and I'm leaving it on 1.5 as it works will for me. It has a nice weight and good balance, and surprisingly the polished surface is not slippery to hold. The head is large, covering the entire blade, but because of it's shape, shaves smaller, and you don't have to worry about catching an edge. It made quick work in 2 passes WTG XTG. A little touchup on my neck ATG and done. I had enough lather left over for another pass. The WH felt good, nice and cool. After cleanup some JB and when it dried, some Old Spice original Shulton AS from the 1956. I'm getting really hooked on this razor. Y'all have a good one!

I've had mixed results with Crystal blades. I haven't figured out if it's operator error, quality control, or which razor I put them in.

My first impression of them is they shave a lot like a Shark blade. If my impression is consistent with others' experiences, those who have good luck with a Shark may find the Crystal a good alternative.

Another nice Italian-style setup for a great shave. This Omega 49 brush is awesome for lathering creams - it got broken in even faster than I expected. This Palmolive Menthol is a cherished favourite of mine. I love its scent, the way it lathers, and the big menthol kick that it gives me with such wonderful post-shave care. It's hard not to love the Lucky Tiger a/s cream because it's so cooling and skin-friendly. This Amici aftershave smells so beautiful - it seems to have a cinnamon note to it with perhaps some citrus as well. It's also quite cooling and refreshing! ;) :D

SOTD 1/22/16 (Shaved after midnight, so I guess that's today)
Prep: Hot Shower/ Dove Men's Face Srub
    Pre-Shave: PAA Ice Pre-Shave Soap
    Soap: RR Son of Zeus
Brush: Manhandled wood shop 24mm Boar
    Razor/ Blade: Merkur 1906/ Voskhod (2)
    Astringent: Witch Hazel
    Post-Shave: Nivea Sensitive Cooling Balm
Aftershave: RR Son of Zeus Splash

Great shave last night. The Merkur 1906 is super smooth and not too aggressive. Works great with a Voskhod, as well. I really like the Son of Zeus scent. It is a lighter scent and probably better in the summer, but I like it as a break away from the heavy winter scents. Great shave overall and I'm happy with the results. I received my first box I sent to myself from home with some of my shaving gear. It looks like USPS does not understand what the word "fragile" means. I wrapped everything very well with bubblewrap and still lost almost half my aftershaves. Citrocol Lime, Fine Platinum, Fine American Blend, and Italian Barber Acquatico were among the casualties...:angry019:
