I did float it out there as a possible birthday gift, so we'll see of that gets any traction. SWMBO has "asked" that I refrain from buying for soaps/creams for a while, so my next purchase may not be for a few months.

I think so. We have a shop in the Houston area called British Isles that has most of the TOBS scents in stock, and so I compared them all. It may have been that day, but it was my favorite. My girls love it too.

The store also has St. James, Truefitt & Hill, Geo. F Trumper, and D R Harris creams. I spent 30 minutes opening them all and smelling. I chose the Eton College and a St. James Black Pepper and Lime. I have been very happy with both.

I wonder if there is some sort of Wives of Shaving AD Sufferers support group they belong too. I think mine intends for a NB16 as well, but I'll have to see how that goes.

How do you float it? My wife doesn't pick up on anything I do. For example I've been hinting I really want fine platinum and snake bite as I'm running low. I sneaked a look at her orders online and I'm getting clean vetiver and L'orange. Highly appreciated and fine sank in but I'm still not skilled enough I birthday persuasion

That St James black pepper and lime sounds beautiful. But the packaging puts me off. I know that's petty but it's not cheap.

When she and my parents asked for ideas, I sent them links to the R66 page. I didn't try to get that specific on scents. Now, I already know that my wife didn't go for it, so I'll have to see if my parents bit or not.

If I remember, it wasn't too much more than the TOBS. I think it may be made by the same company as Truefitt and Trumper, but it was bit cheaper than either of these. I enjoyed the scent so much that I went for it. It was completely different than anything else I have.

When you are trying to hold off from buying shaving related items, threads like that don't help much.

In reality this whole forum can present one with some difficulties.

It wasn't quite that much difference where I bought it. It was $5 I think.

I fully appreciate that, Im a man of simple pleasures but since discovering this wonderful hobby I've reverted to a 5 year old in a toy shop. Including occasionally stamping my feet!

That's brilliant :happy088: I think all nb16ers should use that as an avatar. Make them easily identifiable, so us sensible folk don't rub it in to much.
