I cleaned up my Schick lot I won last week. 2 adjustable's and 1 L1. I need some advice on the adjustable's they appear to be a M2 (protector model)and M1 late ? The M1 think right side in picture is a light gold tinted one. L1 has some miles ut seems to be very sound. I am glad I recently purchased 40 twin blades. I also received 2 Gillette techmatics. Those are going straight to the never use box.

    Yeah that's correct..The later M 1 hadn't the handle insert & that's a protector model...Otherwise the same as the M2 as far as I know...:)

Taking a departure from my Schick C1 focus just for today.

I bought my wife this NOS Lady Eversharp for Christmas. After a few shaves she determined that she liked her turquoise G5 better. I know that a few of you ( and you know who you are @Karl G @Herm2502 @Billyfergie etc! ) have tried some of the Schick / Eversharp razors like this and "The Deb."

So being comfortable enough with who I am, I decided to see how this one shaves my face (with no desire to try it on my legs or armpits!)

2-day growth, 3-pass shave (WTG, XTG, ATG)
(Just a reminder, aside from this month's 30 day focus with the C1, the sum total of my injector experience is less than 3 weeks of shaves with about 7 different injector razors 4 months ago. So I'm almost starting over after that brief intro to injectors.)

Very different from the Schick C1 I've been using. With light to no pressure, I purposely stayed on the razor face, as I do with great success on the C1. But after the first pass or so I wasn't getting the reduction I expected. It seemed to require a steeper angle than the C1 to get acceptable reduction. So I moved slowly into slightly steeper angles and began to see a better reduction with the last half of the second pass.

I stayed near the razor face or just slightly steeper for the ATG pass and I certainly started hearing the Velcro ripping sound I remember. But on my chin for ATG, I stayed mostly flat, or just barely steeper than flat against the face because my angular jaw does not make for good flat surfaces. I have a mustache so no upper lip report, but if I shaved there I don't think I would do XTG or ATG and just perhaps a bit of buffing while WTG.

After all that, and 3 hours later, it's clear I got a great, close shave with no irritation.

    Enjoy your Shave Den Sunday!

    Cheers!

    The USA Made Christy..:p

    Three Shaving Pass Routine..

Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil
    Christy SE
Dutch made Schick Plat Injector Blade x 3
Kent BK 2 Pure Badger Brush
    Monsavon Tallow Soap (France)
    Bella Bay Rum Lotion

I pulled out my Christy for a change of pace..The Christy takes a standard injector blade without any modification as it fits to perfection in the standard baseplate..The baseplate has 2 little raised knobs that you can see in the top photo..The injector blade seats perfectly against those raised knobs & the baseplate just slides under the head of the razor as snug as a bug...There is an Enders version of this razor but its not got the raised knobs on the baseplate...No Cigar..;)

The Christy shaves something like a Schick Type G but you just have to be more careful that's all..Dolphin Smooth Finish & no cuts or weepers & an irritation free shave...These are as Cheap as Chips & so rewarding to bring them back to life again...A very simple design & were mass produced in their day..A friend PIF me this one as a present so I have a special relationship with it..I enjoyed my shave with the Christy & I am off to the boozer for a couple of pints..:eatdrink047:

Thanks for sharing this Billy! I have seen a number of Christy razors at antique stores and thought "So sad they're useless to shave with." Next time I see one I'll scoop it up as long as it has the stops like yours. Have you ever tried an Enders Speed razor? Is there a blade that will fit in it that is currently made to your knowledge?

I read a report over on another website concerning the Enders Speed razor. This individual used an injector blade for the cutting edge and used a cut down Enders blade to hold it in place. The Enders blade had the cutting edge removed and acted and a sort of wedge to hold the injector blade in place. Hope this makes sense. I'll try to find the info and post it here later
