We should shave, to save our faces. I was a 1 pass + clean up shaver 5 days a wk, for 35+ years (my teaching career). Who had time for more?

Haha, yes! I am a teacher as well. I get up early and don't have a lot of time on weekdays. Glad to learn you were an educator!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Red Tip, Friodur Inox 70 1/2 straight razor
Blade: PolSilver Super Iridium (4)
Brush: Turkish #6
Soap: Cella
After: Home made ASB, Stetson cooling after shave lotion

I had to reach Way Back into the cabinet to get the Cella and the Stetson this morning. This set up gave me a 2 pass Darn Fine Shave.

today's shave was nice enough(cept for the blood). I had pressed my shave den soap into a mug from the shave stick. the semouge made nice lather. I made three passes with the Diamond Edge. I cut myself during the first pass. certainly made the bay rum burn a bit.

well probably not that badly. all in all it wasn't a bad shave.

Clearly, I have got to work on dialing in the water ratios for my Jayaruh brushes, before they get relegated to show pieces; the lather was good for two passes, but was starting to get too thin on the 3rd. Because the Black Handle SS is my mildest razor, any minor weeper or nick that I get - as I did today, on the 2nd pass - that I cannot attribute to a spasm or a lack of concentration on my part tells me the blade is not a good fit for my needs. So it may be with the Red Israeli, though I'll try the other blade in the sampler before I come to that conclusion, in case there is variance in QC. On the plus side, the shave is as close to BBS results as I can get without an ATG pass.

 

No fragrance Paul other than a lil scent from the menthol.
