    Some gifts arrived yesterday...
  6. :signs001:
They were in a mess covered with soap scum and old type had much patina on its handle but bleech, brush and whitining toothpaste did the job :)

  7. Great haul, especially WTF soap has a nice label.

  9. Be careful using bleach. There's really no need to risk ruining your razors. Warm water, dishwashing fluid, baking soda and a soft toothbrush is all you need :)
Is the Ondüla Turkish made? I've seen a couple of Soviet/Eastern European made Gillette Knack copies before, but never a Turkish one

  10. Thank you for the heads up! Appreciated. I always keep my vintage razors under bleech diluted with water for 10 minutes. If the duration is more than 10 minutes, they start to lose their plating and I only apply this once for each razor.
That's right, Ondüla is a Turkish brand which still produces wax, sun cream ,etc. but no more razors. It's a nice knock off of Gillette Knack. This is my second Ondüla TTO. I also have a black handled ondüla TTO. It's an excellent razor and gives a bbs everytime.

  13. Thanks, now I can replace a few that have scratches in the stickers and got backups for the future :)

  14. Received three metal Wilkinson Protectors this week.

Two are from the "Ethno design" line and as the name on the box indicates these are metal - so no lightweight, flimsy razor handles here :)
They are also not really that rare so I'm rather tempted to open them up for some shaves in the coming weeks:

The third one is a bit more rare James Bond 007 LE razor.
This one is for the movie "The world is not enough" and comes with a matching metal stand:

A rather nice trio to be added to my small Protector collection.

The James Bond one joins two others.
    From left to right:
    - The world is not enough,
    - Tomorrow Never Dies, and
    - Goldfinger

  15. Is that the Fine Angelhair synthetic? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it after use, if so.

  16. Yeah!! Excellent brush, very soft tips with a good backbone. It's the first time I used the brush and I'm impressed. I also liked the grip of the handle.

  17. Does it compare favorably with other synthetics you've tried? (Sorry to pester).

  18. I have a large collection of synthetics. Definetely it's a brush you must have in your den.
But the best for me is Ubersoft of Envy Shave.

  19. Let us know how this performs, and the scent?
I picked up the Acqua di Florida tallow soap from their shop. It was a special commission made by Gingers Garden. Good stuff and very true to the cologne.

  20. Go to a reputable jeweler. He will tell you what bleach does to metal. Mine told me and the Mrs not to wear jewelry in the pool.
