I did my shave right now. It's a fougere scent with an excellenr lather. Top floral notes...I loved it.
My drummer said he had some stuff to give me that he found after a tennant left his home. This is what I received: gem jr se razor and 2 citizen watches
I really am downsizing my Den, but....................I had to add two new Stirling's: Gatlinburg Shave Soap, and Executive Man Menthol AS.
My horse arrived! That's my VigShaving 24mm horse hair knot from China. Interesting tidbit, I can get a brush from China faster than I can from SoCal.
This unique Victorian-era IXL frameback razor made by George Wostenholm & Sons (circa 1873-1889) arrived yesterday. It is in even better condition than I anticipated! The razor simply need a good cleaning, polish & hone. Not bad for 140+ year old razor!
I have a batch of razors going to the hones this weekend. Hopefully by early next week, some new SOTD items will be ready!
Received this small lot that I spent $15 on. It contained; - NIB Merkur MII (yet another one) with all the adapters, etc - A NIB/NOS 'Pure bristle' Col Conk brush that seems terrible, and - the pièce de résistance - a pewter shaving scuttle from Sheffield, England As you can see by the scale provided by the brush next to it - the scuttle is rather small. Actually, to me a perfect size as I was a bit worried it would be much larger. Very happy about the scuttle as really like both the look of it and the nice weight/quality of it. I guess those Sheffield lads knows a bit or two about metal working
I did a test lather. Absolutely no backbone. None. It felt like a wet noodle in my hand. I wrote an email to VigShaving lets see what they say.
I'm sorry Kerry, let us know how it works out. I hope they can offer a solution that's works for you.
LoL I should mark them so I can find the latest edition if I need to. I seem to have an affection for Ranger Tech, Fatboy, and 46 / 47 Aristocrats.
stopped by a thrift store today and found TOBS eton college cream, and proraso preshave cream....both brand new for $.99...this is my first TOBS so I look forward to trying it...I also passed on a brand new tub of proraso white cream for $.99.
I broke down and got a Maggard V2 Open Comb razor. I just had to try it to compare with the V1's I PIF'd. The feedback has been excellent. It is on deck for tomorrow. If it passes muster, it will become my travel razor.
