  1. What a pretty photo @clint64 :signs154:
  2. I like 6-7 as well and I stayed at 6 to start and used 6&7 after a time or two. So no change for me. I really liked the Bolzano blades better to be honest. Smoother and just as sharp to me.

  3. Saturday morning shave with the Futur. Setting #2, Polsiver blade (3). Excellent 2 pass shave. The Route 66 is nice in this dryer weather, the lanolin I guess. Have a great day everyone!

  7. SOTD: Saturday, January 30
(No Picture, you've all seen the set up this week and it's not going to change---except for the blade, for the next 3 weeks)
    MWF
    CH2 Synthetic
    '58 195 Adjustable (8)**
    Souplex/Solingen (1)
    Floïd Blue
**I dialed the Fat Boy up to 8 today for the first time. Significant difference from 7. This was almost like using my R41, and as you all know, it doesn't get much more aggressive than that. Tamed the beast however, and the resulting BBS shave was nick and weeper free. (This says a lot about the importance of technique)
While this isn't the first time that I have focussed on a singular set up for an extended period of time, it is still enjoyable to hone my skills.
    Have a great weekend!
  8. Lovely set up. :eatdrink047:
  9. Es freut mich sehr dass Du eine tolle Rasur hattest! :)
  10. Thank you kind sir!
  11. How was the ShopRite "Spice"? I've been noticing it at my ShopRite, next to the Williams.
  12. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016
    Hot shower
    Proraso Preshave
    Plisson Synthetic
    Some shave stick
Hoffritz Slant w/Gillette Silver Blue (1)
    W, X1
Cold rinse, cold towel, witch hazel, lots of styptic pencil, Stetson AS w/aloe
    Yikes

I'll try the Hoffritz with a couple more soaps, but it was very aggressive for me. I couldn't do a third pass.
  13. Sick as a dog last night. After a hot shower and a shave feeling much better this morning.

    Wolfman
    Paladin
    Savonnière du Moulin

  15. SOTD Jan 30th (SE Saturday)

    Razor - OCMM Gem blade
    Brush- Jim/Omega hybrid
    Shave cream - Speik
    Pre - Shower TSW soap
Post - unrefined Shea butter / Thayers WH cucumber

Only recently did I find how to dial in the GEM razors I have OCMM and Clog-Pruf. Found the Gem blades tugging even from new until I decided to try a shave after a shower. Normally due to morning time constraints I shave in the evening, not wanting to be rushed and wanting to enjoy the shave. Different story on Saturday as I have time and so decided to shower first then shave. One recent morning after showering I decided on the Clog-Pruf as the days razor. What a difference post shower made with this combo. The razor glided effortlessly, warm water and soap acted as a beard conditioner making for softer cutting whiskers.
I decided to make Saturday post shower my SE razor day and will alternate from Gem's to injectors. I will shave with injectors throughout the week but will only shave with other SE post shower on weekends. I don't shave on Friday's enjoying my 2 day growth shaves that much more on Saturday. Happy weekend shaving.

Another great shave with the Mongoose today. 2 pass WTG produced a near BBS once again. Its such a unique razor, unlike anything else Ive used.
