Scent-wise I much prefer Brian's Frostbite to the Synergy or PAA or whatever the producer calls it. The Synergy soap is very icy, lathers great, but the scent is not all the way to my taste although it's ok. I have Brian's Frostbite soap also and I love it in every way. His matching aftershave smells awesome and is it ever COLD with perfect skincare! ;) :D

  4. Jeff, I hope you're ready! I'm going to take a dip in the freeze for a Menthol Monday in a couple of days. We'll see how it goes! It won't be to the level of your freezes of course. I'm looking forward to it.

I gave this blade (thanks again NapalmCola) two tries and it just doesn't agree with me. Feels like a poorer quality carbon; tuggy and not very sharp. Not a bad shave as in irritated or damaged, just couldn't barely get DFS from it. Maybe I got a bad one, I've heard so much good about the blade.
  7. Thanks! I just found it in my kitchen, I didn't think about using it for shaving. The spiral on the bottom is raised, so it helps making lather. I was reading about how some texture helps, and thought of using it. This was the first time, and it makes really good lather. The top closes in a bit, too. I wish it was a tiny bit bigger, but it's much better than the bowl I was using.

  8. Fantastic! My go to bowl for loading when I use one is a bowl I found in one of my kitchen cabinets unused and it tapers at the bottom to the exact fit of most soaps. I've also found a bunch of items from my household useful for my SOTD photos. I encourage everyone to look around the home, there is some cool stuff begging to be used creatively. :)

  9. Indeed, creativity! As a bonus, if I drop it and it breaks, I still have two more. (one didn't survive a fall a long time ago). I don't even remember where I got them, or how long I've had them.
  10. Sunday Anticipated Shave

    Razor: Schick Adjustable
    Blade: Schick 'Chick'
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip
    Soap: Maggard Mango Sage Tea
    AS: Barbasol Brisk

Upgrading from the Lady Eversharp to the Schick Adjustable. I've used this razor before, so I'm hopeful. Trying to learn the art of injector shaving.[IMG]

This Tim's soap lathered phenomenally, super slick and cushiony. The clean cut scent was masculine, like a decent cologne. Paired nicely with the old spice AS

    TESC Pre-Shave Oil
    Geo. F. Trumper Almond SC
    Jayaruh #36 Horse
    Edwin Jagger DE89
    Voskhod
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Cucumber WH
    GFT Coral Skin Food

I prepared my face with The Executive Shave Co. Pre-Shave Oil. The Geo. F. Trumper Almond Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #36 horse hair brush. Two passes with my Edwin Jagger DE89 razor and a Voskhod blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Geo. F. Trumper Coral Skin Food. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
  13. I've read some great things about Coral Skin Food Jim, let us know how you like it. Great setup for a fantastic shave buddy. Enjoy :)
  14. @Herm2502 such pretty colors in this photo! Well done! :signs154:
