Georgetown Pottery G12 Shaving Scuttle. I started growing a beard unexpectedly because of the winter temperature drop, so I felt like a scuttle was a good investment. That way shaving is less miserable during the colder parts of the year. My bathroom gets quite cold. I try to shower in the afternoon too to avoid the freezing feeling I get after I step out of the shower.
I did have to scold her for not realizing my Myrsol Emulsion is nearly out and could have been added to her order Just kidding.... Im rather lucky to have a wife that appreciates and supports my hobby.
Came across this RARE Savile Row brush and had to have it. Finding a Savile Row in Tortoise or Buffalo horn is rare enough but then finding one in a fan shape on top of that is just as rare so one that is in Tortoise and fan shape is a big bonus. Hope it is not too floppy for me. This one is reported to be 26mm by 59mm loft. .
Thanks Mark. I'm in the process of trimming my brush collection down to manageable size but had to have this rare brush.
The gentleman who I bought the brush from was selling his Kent BLK12 at the same time. When I saw that it reminded me of my BK8 which for me was way too floppy and sold off after two uses. My Sevile's are a lot denser than the BK8 I had so hoping it will be along the lines of what I have and not a floppy knot. The gentleman said he felt it was floppy so will have to see if this SR is a relabeled Kent or not. Of all the Kent brushes I think the T series is the best looking of the bunch.
Waiting on a V-1 super adjustable birth quarter razor. It's pretty crusty in the pics. See how it does in the ultrasonic
High end ones can get expensive. Mine was a reasonable $63. I have the harbor freight 2.5l which is heated. (About $63 with 20% coupon). Their smaller one does not work as well. My brother has been using it for years to clean motorcycle/atv carbs. Cleaned mine and a friends first batch of razors yesterday. Using only water and Dawn with the heater. Works well, not sure how to post video of it in action. Here's a snapshot. The cloud is the stuff coming out.
Well i'm fairly new to wet shaving, so this will most likely be documented tests. There are a couple i may wait for a while to use (feathers), until i am a little more experienced and have a few more shaves under my belt. And yes 85 blades, from 16 brands. a great way to try em all out.
My fascination with the Merkur MII razors continues - partly because I love the handles and partly because these are two versions (polished silver and gold plated) that I didn't already have (I have two or three matte silver ones). Also, seeing them come up for about $15 each + a lot of stuff 'thrown in' made it extra hard to resist (these normally sell for about $50). The only downside is that I am starting to accumulate a small collection of ugly shaving mugs and brushes that I will have to try to sell. (Seller's photos) Lot 1 - about $16 - Col Conk Pure Badger brush, - Col Conk Shaving mug, - Couple of combs, and - NIB Gold plated Merkur MII Lot 2 - also about $16 - Col Conk Pure Badger brush, - Col Conk really ugly scuttle, and - NIB polished silver plated Merkur MII A scuttle only a mother could love:
Floid Blue Eau de Cologne150ml, Floid Aftershave Splash “Vigoroso” 150ml from Gifts & Care. I'm going to order an iKon Short Open Comb head only tomorrow. I'm looking at the fabulous cherry wood boar brush RazoRock has for $19.99. I'll sleep on that one.
That is one foul piece of ceramic! Curious combination with the sleekly designed MII. -- I jumped when hearing that Fine AS was available in Europe, ordered a Fresh Vetiver - and threw a Floïd Black on top for good measure. Quite a few shipments on their way to me now. I will be checking my mailbox eagerly for the coming week
My gold Tech Fatty & Kai blades will be delivered today (if USPS can be believed), and... ...I picked up a '57 blue-tip. Ford blue.
