Esoterica Peacehaven in my old Charatan, first pipe purchase in 1978. The mantle clock belonged to my grandparents. They married in October 1918, and this clock was bought either that month or November 1918. It still runs, although it is stopped in this photo. It needs a little cleaning and tuning every few years by a clocksmith.
If any of you happen to be near Birmingham, Alabama on February 20, that is the date of The Briary's Annual Event. They will always have a pipe maker there with many pipes for sale, and also a cigar rep will be there as well. It's always a fun time, and a chance to pick up a pipe or two. Usually a major pipe tobacco rep will be there as well. This year it will be the Seattle Pipe Club.
Tried the Peterson Irish Oak in a Falcon. The Irish Oak was bit better than the first time I tried it, but there's still something in the flavor I don't like. I'll try it again and if I still don't like it I'll have to decide to either jar it and hope it's better in the future or trashcan it. I'm impressed with the way the Falcon smokes though, and the pipe is very easy to clean.
Late night pipe, Peterson University Flake in a "Made in London" straight bulldog counter pipe. University Flake just doesn't work for me. I may trash the remainder, or PIF it to anyone interested in trying it. I've tried it in several pipes, and just don't like it. Anyone interested, let me know.
I'm with you on the Irish Oak. I tried some at the Briary's Annual pipe event a couple of years ago. I may be finished with Peterson blends, I've tried about 4 of them with no luck. I take it the cold is better.
It became a mild chest cold, hasn't progressed to a head cold. I started taking Zicam at the first signs and that appears to have worked. I still have a little chest congestion, but it's very mild.
Drew Estates Central Park Stroll in a Falcon early afternoon. A dry smoke with no gurgle, although this aromatic smokes a bit wet. The humidome in the Falcon did a good job of knocking out the moisture, just sling the excess liquid out, wipe with a paper towel, run a cleaner thru the stem and ready to go. I'm impressed with the engineering on the Falcon.
I would be interested I trying it. It seems to be warming up here so I'm hoping to light up a pipe again in the next few days.
Good deal, it's yours! There are several flakes left for you to get a good try. PM me your address and I'll send it to you. May take me a few days, but I'll shoot you a note when it's on the way. Glad it's getting warm enough for you to have a pipe outside.
Newminister Superior Round Slices with a pinch of PS 701 Virginia added, in a Nording bent Apple. Gunner has gone to sleep on me, guarding his chew bone.
Insomnia + severe backache response....I probably run a close second! With the Briary's Annual event coming up, I may be looking to pick up another pipe, but will hold the price down a tad from previous purchases. I'm wanting a straight rusticated. Don't really need to buy anything, with my daughter's wedding coming up in March!
