I used this razor for the first (and possibly last) time.

First, the pros: I like the handle.

    Okay, now for the cons:
The finish on the razor isn't all that great. There's some rough spots that should have been polished out before plating.

The blade angle is bizzare, and the head feels far too narrow because of it. The second blade is, in this instance, surplus to needs. The only places that actually got shaved were my cheeks. Anywhere that didn't have a straight flat surface failed to get shaved. I attempted to shave my neck with it and failed miserably there.

If there was an award for the worst designed razor ever, the Razolution would win it. The packaging is nice, well designed even, as are the inserts and supplementary materials.

I ended up doing the second pass with the Shake Sharp razor, because I wanted something that would get me clean shaven in one pass.

The irony of the situation is, that in an alternate timeline, I could see a razor based on a Shake Sharp design that could use two DE blades successfully, with proper placement and spacing. It wouldn't even be all that difficult.

Sometime in the next few days, I'll give the Razolution one more try, this time without the second blade. We'll see if that will make any difference in the shave.

Thanks again for letting me try this razor, Bill. It has been quite the eye opening experience. :)

I know exactly what you went through, I even ended at one time with one blade above my chin and the other below it, I immediately remove said razor and finished with another. When you place one blade (at the top) please pay attention to the "gap", does the Grand Canyon mean anything to you? If you place a blade in the bottom position, then you have a long bladeless area to the cap. I tried several different combos, sadly , nothing worked for me, but good luck! All in all I probably had the Blade(s) actually on my skin Approx. 1 ro 2 mins. Best wishes.

Eh, Bill, this isn't the SOTD thread. :)
I just posted here so the guys who were in The running for your razor would know what terrible fate they avoided.

Thanks for a nice write up. You can remove my name from the pass around request list

Yeah , I was wondering why my SOTD was in the wrong place. I guess I`ll have to pay more attention from now on, thanks for the info. I`m a low tech person living in a high tech world. But with friends like the guys on TSD, I just might learn a few things.

    With respect, Bill

I'm still curious to try this one out, despite every review I've ever seen being negative. I don't seem to qualify for PIFs yet, but does that mean I also can't get onto a pass around list, should that come to fruition? (Please forgive my ignorance.)

I think that if you send a private message(PM) to PlanofMan and get the particulars from him (he owns the Raz) and he said he was willing to do a pass around. Probably more of a matter of time than anything else. He seems to be a pretty fair man (and knowledgeable) Welcome to TSD, glad to have you on board.

    Best wishes, Bill
