Stirling Executive Man is a great soap and aftershave! Scent, slick, post, everything about this product is right on. The Gillette SS TV Special is an efficient razor, very smooth shaver.

The Executive Man is a great GIT dupe. Sadly, it burned my face, so off it went to my son.

    Shave Den Sunday!!

    Prep: Warm water rinse
    Blade: Schick injector
    Razor: Schick Eversharp G-type injector
    Brush: Escali badger
    Lather: TSD lanolin bay rum
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD Iced bay rum after shave, Nivea sensitive balm
WTG, XTG (neck and jaw only), touch-up

Received a big haul of TSD products yesterday. Wow!! This was a terrific shave! The bay rum soap is a heavy clove-influenced scent. It reminds me of the holidays. The lather is top-notch - exceptionally easy to load, rich, thick, cushioning - all the good stuff you're looking for. The Escali badger brush lost a good many hairs a couple of days ago but performed really well today. I had enough lather left over to do two or three more passes. The post shave feel after the cold water rinse was the best I've ever experienced. I am really pleased and impressed with the TSD soap!

The Schick razor was a gift to me and I've really enjoyed it. I will return to a Maggard DE tomorrow to begin a new focus, but the Eversharp will be close by and I'll use it off and on.

TSD's iced bay rum was a real treat. It stung a little bit at first and then the menthol kicked in and really cooled things off. I finished with Nivea balm.

All in all this was a terrific shave. I'm overly impressed with the quality of the TSD products! Now I see why so many of you sing their praises.

Have a great end to your weekend!

    Sunday:
hot shower w/Old Spice scented body wash
    Homemade PSO
    Gillette Aristocrat 2+ passes
    Big Ben Super Stainless (4)
    Omega boar
Old Spice soap in a warm mug
    Thayer's unscented w/aloe
    Old Spice A/S (Shulton India)

Very nice shave this morning and I retired the blade. I probably could have gotten one more shave out of it but I didn't want to ruin a good thing. After four shaves in four different razors I realized why this blade worked so well for GD Carrington to use as a measuring stick against other blades. Very predictable performance in a blade that I'm not sure you could hurt yourself with yet having the ability to deliver a very good shave consistently.

    Pre-Shave Oil (pre-shower)
    Edwin Jagger DE89
    Astra Platnum (2)
    Hot Shower, Nivea Face wash
    Omega 10066 Boar Shaving Brush
    Shannon's Soaps Bay Patchouli Grapefruit
    Alum, Witch Hazel, Nivea Balm
    Mod Cabin Honeysuckle Beard Oil

I took a little more time this snowy Sunday and did a hot towel after shower with some extra pre-shave oil and bloom water. Can't say for sure it made a difference, but it seemed too. First time with this soap, I was afraid the scent would be too strong after opening the jar, but it calmed down nicely after lathering it up. I was hoping for more patchouli, but the grapefruit is the dominant scent. I still like it though, lathered up nicely.

My new found shaving bowl hold heat well. Put it in the sink with hot water before getting in the shower. Kept the lather warm through the shave.

Today's shave of the day was by far the BEST!!!
BUUUT! I screwed up and added variables.. I'm not sure if it was the new gold tech, the exfoliation I did in the shower or the Israel blades I picked up from the local $.99 store..

-Started off with hot shower. Exfoliated face scrub
    Razor - Gillette Gold Tech
    Blade- Israel unknown(new)
    Soap- trader joes
    Brush- trader joes synthetic
Technique - wtg, xtg, atg, clean up
Post shave- witch hazel, neutrogena post shave balm
    Cologne- vintage Pinaud Musk

I knew from the moment I started it was going to be great. Usually no matter what razor I used , I feel tugging with the Astra sp blades.. Like the edge is slightly lifting and catching the hair. But with this shave... It was smooooth.. No tugging . Usually by the time I get to the ATG pass I can feel my skin burning a little.. Not this time.. Each stroke was smooth.. Each pass was smooth.. The razor was gliding . I was grinning from ear to ear.. Now I did nick myself a few times and didn't even know it.. But I know a couple were small pimples.. So I'm blaming skin imperfections on that.. A couple of small weepers.. But that is ok.. I got BBS with no irritation!!!

I wish I would have thought about keeping the same variables in play.. Now I need to either try an Astra sp blade in the tech or try the mystery Israel blade in one of the other razors.

I think I read on hear that the Israel blades are persona blades, but I can't remember which.

Happy shaving gents and thank you for reading my extremely long but happy post!!

Day 2 with the DOC. Easy is the only way I can describe this razor. It glides over the face removing beard with ease. I can get a good shave with most any razor, the razor is the one thing that does not make a much of a difference in the quality of my shaves. The difference is the ease of getting that good shave. The DOC razor is an improvement on the design of the original GSK. The blade gap is what makes the difference as there is more blade exposure on the GSK. For me, efficient razors make it easy to get the tough areas; the chin line & under the jaw. The Vie-Long Horse Hair & Badger lathered The Chiseled Face - Ghost Town Barber. Chiseled face makes a great soap, and works very well with the DOC, as there is great residual slickness with the lather the razor leaves behind. Tomorrow we use the original, with the Ghost Town Barber.

Beautiful tech and brush. Don't worry keep trying blades and you will find some that work consistently well in all your razors. One such blade for me is the Personna Lab Blues. Have fun! :)
