High end ones can get expensive. Mine was a reasonable $63. I have the harbor freight 2.5l which is heated. (About $63 with 20% coupon). Their smaller one does not work as well. My brother has been using it for years to clean motorcycle/atv carbs. Cleaned mine and a friends first batch of razors yesterday. Using only water and Dawn with the heater. Works well, not sure how to post video of it in action. Here's a snapshot. The cloud is the stuff coming out.
Well i'm fairly new to wet shaving, so this will most likely be documented tests. There are a couple i may wait for a while to use (feathers), until i am a little more experienced and have a few more shaves under my belt. And yes 85 blades, from 16 brands. a great way to try em all out.
My fascination with the Merkur MII razors continues - partly because I love the handles and partly because these are two versions (polished silver and gold plated) that I didn't already have (I have two or three matte silver ones). Also, seeing them come up for about $15 each + a lot of stuff 'thrown in' made it extra hard to resist (these normally sell for about $50). The only downside is that I am starting to accumulate a small collection of ugly shaving mugs and brushes that I will have to try to sell. That is one foul piece of ceramic! Curious combination with the sleekly designed MII. -- I jumped when hearing that Fine AS was available in Europe, ordered a Fresh Vetiver - and threw a Floïd Black on top for good measure. Quite a few shipments on their way to me now. I will be checking my mailbox eagerly for the coming week
My gold Tech Fatty & Kai blades will be delivered today (if USPS can be believed), and... ...I picked up a '57 blue-tip. Ford blue.
Ten bucks. It's a nice addition to the den. Not only got my Kai blades, got 25 Gillette Platinums and 50 Lord Platinums.

I scored this to restore last week- http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/301854813015 A parcel from the seller arrived today. It has an antique milk bottle in it. The seller sent my razor to the person who bought the milk bottle, and sent me the milk bottle. I was really looking forward to refurbishing that razor set. I even went down to the fabric store two days ago, and bought new felt for the lower tray in the case. The person who got the razor won't respond to the sellers messages. I am really bummed about it. I guess I'll have to wait and see if he will answer the sellers messages, and send back the razor set. Bummer.
