The Haul: February 2016

I got my Chiseled Face samples today, 8 soaps and 8 after shaves. I was hoping to narrow down to one or two scents to get a bigger puck of, but they all smell great! Any tips on loading a brush from the small containers?

 

I recently acquired 9 samples from Maggards and I use a plastic spoon from Wendy's dig out an almond size dollop and drop it in my bowl and load my brush or spread onto my brush for face lathering. So far I've only tried the Cryogen sample but it worked out fine.

Ok, thanks, I will try that! I hadn't touched it and didn't realize is was so soft. I gave myself a little blast of the Cryogen aftershave, man that stuff is intense. Save that one for Menthol Monday to try.

 

It really is, and it gets colder with every pass. Love the soap!

 

I got this #51 Aristocrat Jr. Made in England. It is my first Rocket. Got it from Rob in Canadia.


Then there is the Dorko Plastic Double Edge. I thought it would make a great travel razor.


Next is the Ubersoft 2 24mm knot. I'm not really happy with it. It is asymmetrical and it has chips off the bottom. I have a message in to the vendor.

 

Received my 'introductory offer, reduced to $2 shipped"-razor by evahs in the mail today.
Not sure I'll be able to use it until next week as I have 'committed' myself to some other razors this week but first impressions based on looks and feel alone are very positive.
Love the long and heavy handle.

Beautiful knurling on that handle, just lovely and what presentation with that gorgeous packaging!

 

With sample creams I just put a dollop in my bowl and go to it; but with soaps you usually have to mash it down with your thumb otherwise you can end up chasing the little fella around your bowl.

 

Yes, I tried a practice lather, this worked well. Lathered up nicely. This stuff smells amazing!

 

I've got lots of full sizes of all kinds of stuff but I'm still seriously addicted to samplers.

 

Speaking of which the R66 samples should be ready! I better go have a look!

 

The R66 pack went up today, guess who has two thumbs and already ordered that? This guy!

The amount of soaps and scents is pretty overwhelming. I really like the samples to see what I like.

My Russian blade sampler finally showed up!

 

Scales are trashed but the blade looks salvageable to my untrained eye and if nothing else, it is a Wade & Butcher , Sheffield (no England).
