The black oxide on the handle of my razor is starting to fade a bit and the razor is starting to develop a bit of character. I like where this is going. Of course, since I've shaved every day with this razor since I received it I may be a little biased, but I am still convinced that Shane built this thing just for me!

Just shaved with a polished cap and OC plate with a Feather. One damn good shave. That combination really tamed the Feather. No nicks or irritation for once. WTG and XTG.

I've got about 9 or 10 shaves in with my Blackbird now. At first I was on the fence about it but since I started using the Gillette Platinum blades, I'm really getting used to this razor and liking it. Shaves are smooth and clean, no nicks or irritation and it does a fantastic job of cleaning my neck with no burn or irritation.

I have been using mine exclusively since I got it.

Last night I thought I would use the King Cobra for a change.

Lathered up, picked up the KC, put down the KC, loaded the BB with a fresh GSB and had a wonderful 3 pass shave.

Anyone else having problems picking up their other razors?

    I am.

Edit: Sorry, I hit reply by accident. I even want to use something else, then change my mind. I feel like, "I only have one chance to shave today, I don't want to waste it."

Serious den clearing coming on. Someday. I promise.

I own several SS modern DE razors (Ikon, Feather, ATT, Wolfman) and I have to say my Blackbird beats them all in looks, ties or beats them all in shave comfort, closeness & handling, & with the exception of the Wolfman, ties or beats them all in finish. I went with the polish finish because I was concerned with the durability of the black finish. I usually prefer a short handle but went with the long handle because of some of the posts I've read & I don't regret it. I have no problem with control & in spite of the lack of knurling & the handle's thinness, it's a very easy handle to grip. My first few shaves have been with the included Personna blades & have produced mid aggressive but comfortable BBS shaves. Can't wait to try it with an Astra SP (my favorite blade) IMO, at $160, the Blackbird Razor is the best modern, all SS razor value on the market today.

I decided to give the Blackbird Shave soap one more go today. Once again, the lather fell flat and I had to salvage it with Kiss my Face.

This time I felt the slight burning sensation other people had remarked on. I'm usually not sensitive to fragrance oils, (with the exception of tobacco) so I did a little test.

I stuck the tip of my tongue on the soap. Instant tingling sensation followed a few seconds later by a burning sensation. I'm fairly certain there is unconverted lye in there. If that is the case, it isn't a reaction to the fragrance that is causing people to have issues. It's straight up chemical burn.

I'd appreciate it if one or two other people who also own the soap would also test my hypothesis.
