I have about 150 razors. Some of them appear to be NOS. I don't have a single razor that I was not willing to shave with. That's what they are for. My Grand Shave King and Mulcuto always seem to stay in the rotation.
Have you ever taken a 'group photo' of your collection? I'd love to see. I know you got some doozies.
I don't think I figured out what type of collector I am. With my tissue paper skin I can only use a non adjustable Gillette after three of four days of growth otherwise the Gillette super adjustable is my number one razor now what I'm thinking of doing is trying to buy razors cheap on ebay then revamping them to brand new and try and flip them for a profit that seems like a fun thing to do.
Hello, I consider myself a collector who uses his collection. Here's a link to my collection- http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/morman-bridges-den.47713/ With so many fine choices, how could I not use them? Although I do have a few NOS sets, and a few mint sets, I use almost all of them. All but 6 or 7.
I'm a user not a collector, I even pass on NOS sets because I don't want to pay for the box. I'm just in search of the perfect shave. No problem letting razors go if they don't make the cut.
Same here. As long as 'use' includes putting it on a shelf, occasionally looking at and fondling it through its packaging
I've never had a razor I didn't try at least once; some of them a sensible man probably wouldn't have bothered with. But that's just me. As for display, I've got over a half dozen strewn about the tub and bathroom. I don't think that counts.
I know I'm new and probably don't need to post. But I think I'm a user not a collector. By the end of next week I'll have 8 razors. 6 will be vintage and two are new production razors. I don't plan on purchasing much more unless I find them super cheap. My biggest expense is the Hoffritz and my cheapest is my red tip. I've used each one I have and plan on using each one I get. This summer I'll be working on my shave den.. I have my own bathroom which is outside and needs a little work. It's a blank slate and I will be doing the reno myself.
