    Hello fellow Shave Denizens, Good Morning! Today's SOTD as follows;

    1946 Gillette Milord Tech.
    Shark Super Chrome blade.
    Chinese Badger hair brush.
    King Louis Lavender shaving soap.
    Nivea post shave balm.
    King Louis Lavender as splash.
    Avon Mesmerize cologne.

I didn't know what to expect of this razor, since I just restored the whole set yesterday, and have never shaved with it before. I was not dissatisfied with its performance. All the Milord Tech razors I have shave great, and this one is true to form. I rate this shave as a two pass BBS. Here is the photo-

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS. TODAY I TRIED MY FIRST MAGGARD SOAP FROM MY SAMPLER. I JUST PULLED THE FIRST ONE FROM THE BAG AND IT WAS TOBACCO AND LEATHER. I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED THAT IT SMELLED VERY SWEET, CRISP AND CLEAN. I BOWL LOADED AND FACE LATHERED IT. IT PRODUCED PLENTIFUL, SLICK, CUSHIONY LATHER. THREE PASSES LATER I AM BBS. BTW I NEVER WRITE THIS BUT I ATTACK MY WHISKERS AS FOLLOWS: WTG, XTG, ATG. THE RR JAWS IS VERY EFFICIENT AND A JOY TO USE. HAVE A GREAT SHAVE AND A GREAT DAY FOLKS. :) IMG_20160206_060925.jpg

    Good morning TSD :)

I had my first Mongoose shave today.

    mongoose3.jpg

    - Mr Taylors Shaving Cream
    - Grosvenor "Finest"
    - Mongoose (borrowed)
    - Feather Pro Guard
    - Tüff sensitiv Rasierwasser

Haven't used the Mr Taylors for quite some time - still one of my favorite scents. And I forgot how much lather you actually get from a very small amount of cream. :happy088: Great stuff.

First impression of this razor upon its arrival yesterday: Man - this thing is huge. And heavy. Really had to get used to the weight of the razor and the width of the blade. But after a few strokes everything was fine, the handling pretty nice actually. The shave itself was very smooth. Though it was by no means as effective/close as, for example, my first shave with the Futur. Maybe because of the blade? After two passes WTG and X/ATG plus a little touchup I'd rate this a DFS+, perhaps borderline BBS.

Did not feel the Aftershave at all, so it was indeed a very smooth and mild shave.

I'll use my iKon Bulldog handle with the Mongoose head tomorrow - curious how this might alter the shave experience. And maybe I also have to find a different (proper) angle for a closer shave... So far I think it is a very nice razor, but I know and have quite a few I would rate higher than this one.

    Weber Polished Head DE
    Feather (3)
    Edwin Jagger XL Synthetic
    Arko
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and CC Bay Rum

I enjoyed an early Saturday morning two-pass shave before my Bride and I take off for fun day. WTG (face)/ATG (neck) on the first pass, followed by ATG on the second pass. All is good except for one small weeper on the jaw line due to operator error. I've used Arko three times this week, and it always makes for a nice, easy shave. I don't notice its drying effect because I use shea butter in my aftershave routine. I switched up my aftershaves this morning and finished with CC Bay Rum. I really enjoy this scent.

I hope everyone has a blessed and restful weekend.

By far the coldest shave I've had all week - that Glacial Spearmint soap, together with the Arctique aftershave had me freezing and my eyes "cried tears of joy!" (BBS also!) :happy088: :happy088:

Nice shave this morning. I am doing a 30 day focus with the Gillette 7 o'clock blades and changing my razor each week for the 4 weeks of Feb. This week was the Heavy Tech, tomorrow I will be switching to the British Fare Tip Rocket. Nice shave overall. This blade is very sharp...but not smooth. Enjoy your Saturday gents! :chores016:
