NOT-enjoyable? I purchased 100 Personna (USA) blades and enjoyed them so much that I ordered another batch of 200. Both were from Amazon. The second batch is hit or miss; some are excellent and other are rough. Has anything similar to this happen to you? What would you do with the remaining batch?
I was very disappointed with the 100 pack of Personna Lab Blues (also purchased on amazon), even after all the glowing reviews, here and elsewhere. Gave them to my son.
Since you can't know how good or bad(QC wise) a particular blade is until you actually try it, it's always a crap shoot buying large quantities of blades as some maybe great and others not so much. For myself I've bought many Israeli Personna blades (Vikings Sword) from a member here at TSD @KLF his shave shop is "Tierra Santa Shaving". While there have been some disappointing blades in the batch( and there always will be) the vast majority were excellent! I've always gotten at least one shave from any Vikings Sword blade I've used. Email amazon, tell them what happened,(have any of the blades been completely unusable?) they may refund your money for the unused blades, but you may have to pay return shipping? Other than that I would just use the remaining blades.
I've had that happen but wasn't sure if it was really the case or simply different performance in different razors. I ended up trading sme a keeping some. I like variety!
No disrespect Eddie, but the blade is the closest thing to your face and if it doesn't provide a comfortable, satisfying shave, I don't care how much I paid for them---they are out the door. It's like drinking bad coffee, or wine? Yes, they both wake you up or settle you down, but at this point in my life, I am going to enjoy life's simple pleasures, and shaving is right up there with coffee, wine, and scotch.
Let the wife use them for her legs, should last a long time. I'm using my Derbys for that, she can't tell the difference LOL.
Call Amazon. They will do one of 3 things: 1. Exchange the product ( they will pay for shipping back) 2. Refund you the money ( and they pay the shipping back) 3. Refund you the money and they won't require you to send it back. This has been my experience shopping with Amazon.
Buy from reputable dealers! I buy my blades from WCS and carts from DorcoUSA, never from Amazon. I'm not accusing Amazon of being shady but some of their suppliers certainly could be passing off "seconds", QC rejects or even fakes.
Anyone have a better source than Amazon? I called Amazon and found them very helpful. They will refund. Amazon sent me a prepaid label and arranged for a pickup. Great service! They stand behind what they sell. I've ordered Feather blades from Amazon that were fine. I've also ordered Personna USA that were fine. Perhaps it's just a bad batch. I do trust Amazon, the stand behind there sales.
WCS = West Coast Shaving. glad to know that Amazon gave you a refund. As I stated in another threat I suspected some QC issues based on many recent negative reviews. I think I read somewhere that Personna recently changed production facilities and since then the quality of the blades has been hit and miss. Also glad I didn't order any.
I've got a drawer full of blades that I just plain don't like, no flaws. I haven't made an exit plan yet, but it may include a PIF or selling some off.
I PIF blades I don't like. Tossing them is a waste, and they're such a YMMV thing a lot of people may like them.
I buy my Personna Med Preps from Robbin Instruments, which is a medical instrument company. They cost less than Amazon and I have had no problems. http://www.robbinsinstruments.com/product/9-74-0002.html Greg W.
Excellent price on the Med Preps, but the problems discussed are about the Lab Blues. Also, right now with prime shipping, they are $1 cheaper on Amazon. (including shipping)
