The Haul: February 2016

So today I get handed a padded bubble mailer with the label obviously removed by the wife. Curious I look inside and find a bright red box surrounded by bubble wrap. The box has a Durham Duplex on the side an I am thinking that it is too small to be a razor. I was floored, it a full box of 100 blades, twenty packs of five to go with my multitude of Durham razors. Never did I think I would ever see a full box like this.

This folks is why she is a keeper.

it was advertised as shave ready. seems sharp enough. I try it out tomorrow.

 

My wife found the blades. Where she got them from, I have no clue and I am not going to ask. The razors I acquired over time in 2014/2015.

 

I saw this and thought " hey I bet there is some one out there that would appreciate this"

 

Received my unboxed Gillette Twinjector this week so that I can keep my other one boxed up...and have one to shave with.
Really curious to see how it performs. I'm told it's very mild.

 

Those Paul Reveres are very nice.
I got one of the injector one and a couple of the cartridge version - great razors.

 

I thought you would know what it was. Lol it is a very nice cartridge handle. This one looked NOS. nice weight to it. But it ain't my thing so I put it back.

 

The injector ones sell for rather decent money - $35+ for nice condition ones.

 

Also received a second Wilkinson Sword Bonded razor with the sword logo on the handle.
I wanted to keep one in the box so I picked up a second one:


Now, unfortunately...something was 'rattling' around in the package and I opened it up and the razor itself rattles when shaken and there was a piece of plastic floating around in the box
I contacted the seller so we'll see what happens.

 

Out of town at my moms for the weekend. Great haul from this morning!

Pretty self explanatory for some items, but here's the rundown.

Colgate shave stick tin.
Woods of Windsor box, mug and soap....Unused!
Williams bicentennial pewter mug.
ER brush with plastic mug.
OC LC Otto razor.
D2 Red Tip.

The mug came with the brush. At least it has a razor/brush on it. Bottom says Made in USA. ARDEE brand.

The razor handle is thinner than the Gillettes and had this name on the bottom. Along with patent #s and made in USA. I also noticed this is probably an aggressive blade gap.

Also, look at the size of this soap puck!

 

Congrats! You hit the mother load and it looks like you'll never need another soap again.

 

My Tim Blem guitar neck badger brush arrived from the UK. Im thinking if I chop up my Gibson SG, I could make like 12 awesome guitar neck brushes myself

Three project brushes arrived. They will all be getting TGN 2 band finest badger knots.
