Razor: Merkur Futur Blade: Feather (1) Brush: Omega 81230 Soap: Bath house Cuban cedar and lime Post: Alum + Fine L'orange. This has been my most enjoyable shave since starting. It was absolutely flawless. I'm at a loss for words regarding the Futur.... Well done Merkur. It is really solid and the finish is beautiful. It felt like I had been using it for ten years. The angle and pressure was instantaneous. I think it's impossible not to find the angle from the get go. I love the longer handle and the weight which was a concern when I first opened it. I'm so glad I ignored the negative reviews. I did 3 passes on setting 1 and touched up on setting 2. The easiest baby I've ever caught with zero irritation. This is testament to how good the Futur is, given I have a low skill set. First run with a feather, they certainly live up to the hype I will use them for this focus. The bath house Cuban cedar and lime is delightful and worth the price. You soap connoisseurs may want to put it on your list. Although my hard soap use needs work. I had to reload my brush 3 times. The omega was a nice surprise also it seemed rather stiff but softened up very nicely I'm happy with it. No sting at all from Alum and finished in just the right way with fine L'orange. Enjoy the weekend all.
February 13 Edwin Jagger DE89 Feather (3) PSO, Hot Shower, Nivea Face wash Omega 10066 Boar Shaving Brush Chiseled Face Orange Creamsicle soap Alum, Chiseled Face Orange Creamsicle AS Mod Cabin Honeysuckle Beard balm Very nice three pass with touch up. just the slightest trace of sting from the Alum block. Gonna call it BBS, very smooth. Orange Creamsicle smells exactly like the ice cream. Maybe a good summer scent, but probably wouldn't buy a tub. It's discontinued anyhow, so no worries. It's a beautiful day here in Colorado, off for a putt with my lady friend so she can put some miles on her new soft tail. Hope everyone has a great day!
Great write up Tom, I'm so happy the Futur worked so nicely for you. It's awesome when everything comes together for a perfect shave. Great results are always a product of forethought in my book. Even though my SOTD's look random sometimes, they never are. Everything has been planned. Well done
Great write up. Once you have mastered the techniques with one razor, it is much easier to jump to another razor and get good to great results. Well done Sir.
I forgot to post yesterday's shave. Another round with the green lizard. Used Sterling Barbershop soap, and Mandom aftershave. Added a little more wax to the stache, and I got the ends to curl nicely. Encouraging my boss to check out straights. He he.
