SOTD 2/15/16 Razor: Cattaragus Chief’s Head Brush: TGN 24mm Finest, hand turned Maple Soap: Barrister & Mann Lavender, Lime & Cedarwood Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum, Witchhazel Aftershave: Fine American Blend This razor is my favorite to use. Spent some more time with it on my finishing stone. Didn’t use any Chromium Oxide on a pasted strop this time. Got a much smoother shave right off the Translucent Arkansas. Did a three pass shave, and it was very smooth. Very little sting on the alum, and none on the Fine. I think this razor just has the right balance and steel to be compatible with my face. Happy Monday!
Monday 30-day-focus / Omega 20106 / MEM Olive / Swedish Supersteel The Omega is still a favourite of mine. It's been sheddin a few hairs - I wonder if it'll stop or continue. Maybe 7 have been shed since new. The Supersteel is the same - 4 comfortable shaves with 3 passes. Today with the fifth it felt a bit dull/rough, so if that continues, I've found my max with this blade, which is 4. Still not loving the MEM. It gets the job done. It's a future PIF I feel. It was my first time using the vintage Gillette Wild Rain. OMG why did it ever discontinue?? That scent is amazing!
02/15/2016 AlumiGoose with Triad SS Feather Pro (6) Olivewood with TGN Finest Fan Chiseled Face Trade Winds Witch Hazel Fine Platinum Whipped Shea Butter Another automatic near BBS 2 pass shave this morning. One more shave on this blade and I am going to revisit the Feather Super Pro with this razor. The CF soap is very easy to use and has proven to be very slick. I can see the bottom of the container peeking through so I am going to stay with this soap until it's done. Finished with a splash of Fine Platinum. I hope everyone has a great Monday.
Great picture I love how you picked out abit of colour. My omega continues to impress me I've decided to gather a collection of them.
Congratulations on having a wonderful bride and praise the Lord for the time you've had together since then! I hope you both had a blissful day.
Razor: Merkur Futur Blade: Feather (3) Brush: Omega 81230 Soap: MWF Post: Alum + Fine L'orange Cheated with my pic today I just made yesterday's B+W. Another great performance. It really is effortless. The feather is beginning to lack abit but did the job. I cranked the Merkur up to 2 for my first passes and got brave and went with 4 on touch ups. Finished just shy of BBS which I'm happy with, 3 head shaves sees a blade pretty much done. Absolutely love the MWF it's incredible stuff. Have a great day all.
You're on a roll. Several great shaves it a row. . I only get 3 face shaves from a Feather so you're doing well.
30 Day Focus February 15, 2016 Noxema preshave cream Gillette Heavy Tech / Derby Omega / TOBS Natural WH / shea butter / Pre de Provence ASB The Derby was a class act this morning. Sharp and very smooth. I eased up a bit on my pressure (very light to begin with) and I had an absolutely amazing shave. A darn fine shave. No nicks, no weepers. Based on shave #2 with the Derby...this is an awesome blade.
Adam, it's great to hear you are getting that razor dialed in. It looks great, and I know you put a lot of work into it. You have definitely put one of these on my "go find" list.
February 15 Menthol Monday Edwin Jagger DE89 Feather (2) PSO, Hot Shower, Nivea Face wash Omega 10066 Boar Shaving Brush Chiseled Face Cryogen soap Alum, Chiseled Face Cryogen AS I gave the super menthol another shot, starting to like it. Wouldn't want it every day, but once a week it's kinda nice. Nice three pass for a DFS. Have a great week all!
