Today - and through the weekend I think - the new movie "Wrong Swipe" is being streamed for free on youtube. This was a made-for-TV movie and came out a week ago I think. It's labelled a thriller with this description: "When Anna has a difficult time getting close to people, her sister creates a dating profile for her online. Anna starts to message a handsome man until she starts getting disturbing messages that a match is close by" I haven't watched it myself...so caveat viewer Update: Ok, maybe nvm...I tried and lasted less than three minutes
Scary at first...then about half way through it got really lame. The ending was awful! Not as good as the first...but better than Insidious 3.
Creed, it was okay. I can't believe that individuals think this worthy of an Oscar for any of the acting performances...
Just watched "Victor Frankenstein [Meet your makers]" (2015). Yes, yet another movie about the Frankenstein monster - this time told through the eyes of Igor. It was a slightly different take on the well known story. What kept the film afloat was the great acting and wonderful set designs. The movie itself..was a rather slow, predictable and uneventful piece. I'd give it a 5.5/10 The question is, maybe, do we really need more Frankenstein movies?
Ten years before there was The Office..there was Alan Partridge (actually technically there still is as I think there's a new season of the TV show now) - and in many ways it's superior to The Office. Steve Coogan is a genius. I think it's the second time watching this movie The scene with Alan rocking out to Roachford's "Cuddly Toy" starts off the movie brilliantly Rating: 8.5/10 (but you may have to watch a few episodes of the show before seeing the movie)
Crimson Peak It has taken me two months to watch Crimson Peak . A film that is both occasionally scary, but more often very slow ..
Ha that's funny - I've tried making it through it a couple of times over the past month or so but lose interest/attention about 20-25 minutes in
Watched Bridge of Spies last night. Solid movie, though not destined to be a classic. Watched To Have and Have Not on DVD last week. Bogie, Bacall, and Hoagie Carmichael on piano. Now there's a classic!
The Magnificent Seven Great movie. Hadn't seen it in about 20 years. Disappointed to see that it is being rebooted. Jason and the Argonauts I hadn't seen this since I was a kid. I made my 8 year old daughter watch with me today. She actually really enjoyed it.
I really liked Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon when it came out years ago and was looking forward to the sequel. Unfortunately...not even Michelle Yeoh could save this rather deflated movie. It was also, I think, a terrible idea to shoot it with spoken English (it's actually not dubbed) as that did take away some of the original experience. I'll give it a 5/10...but three of those points are because of Ms Yeoh..
