I had a very unsatisfying shave today. I know it was me and not the equipment. After the second pass, it was as if I hadn't done any passes. I think the issue was that my angle was incorrect. Even after the third pass I felt as if I had barely done one pass. At that point I decided to stop and live with it for the day. At any rate, this was the most unsatisfying shave I have had in months.

It happens to all of us. I had one the other day that was really disappointing. It came after a long string of good shaves. I guess that's life!

Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Bath Soap-Scots Pine Sheep
    Soap: Chiseled Face-Ghost Town Barber
    Razor: Gillette New Short Comb
Blade: Personna 74 Tungsten Plus (10)
    Brush: Elite Razor Silvertip-24mmx50mm
    Aftershave: CF Ghost Town Barber

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

CF Ghost Town Barber today. 20 seconds to load the Elite Silvertip. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Personna 74 still cruising along. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Ghost Town Barber.

Even with the Slim set on "9"? Unusual.

    Normal Cold Water Shave

    Razor - Lutz Double Slant
    Blade - KAI
    Soap - Stirling Barbershop
    Brush - Silvertip Synthetic
    AS Balm - Stirling Barbershop
    Splash - Barbasol
Coffee - Folgers Classic Roast Medium
    Cup - my Favorite

The Lutz is a joy to use and is so smooth and efficient on the aggressive side, and very smooth on the other. Next to the DE89 this is the most comfortable shaver in den.

Love the look of this brush and it performs great, pleasantly surprised given that it was so cheap. The Amici AS is becoming a favorite of mine. Has a slight cooling sensation and I love the scent.
Trying Treet Platinum blade for the first time. Have heard good things about them and wanted to see how it performed. Today's shave ended in a smooth BBS, but at the cost of some irritation, a knick, and a weeper on my neck. Sacrificed comfort for closeness today and chased the BBS, something I should not have done with a blade that I am new to. Go easy on your skin folks and have a great day.

Is the T-74 blade worth (me) getting some?

That S.C. sure is pretty. Replated in gold? If so, where?

I really liked the soap. When I went to their site to order both they were out of stock on the AS but this time when I went an ordered the Night Music they had the Russe AS so didn't hesitate to pick it up as my favorite scent from B&M.

image.jpeg Razor: Gillette Slim (k3) 1965 (5) (3) (original case and blade pack with instructions)
Brush: Whipped Dog 30/45 Silvertip 2014
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: Truefitt&Hill No 10
    Blade: Feather (1)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera, Jack Black balm, Old Spice original Shulton 1980 glass AS (gift from my father in law)

Whipped up the Truefitt&Hill No 10 in a minute with the Silvertip. I like the Syntheric brushes, but there is nothing like a Badger Silvertip, and Whipped Dog makes a great one. Nice slick cushion and I really like the scent of the No 10. The heavy handle and head of the Slim gave me a nice smooth shave with no pressure with a Feather blade set on 5. WTG and XTG on my face and neck. Then ATG set on 3. Very smooth. The Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera felt good on my face and that natural scent was nice and fresh. After cleanup, I smoothed on some Jack Black, and then some Vintage Old Spice AS from 1980. Y'all have a good one!

    Razor: Gillette Tech
    Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux (3)
    Oil: Homemade
    Cream: Proaso White
    Brush: Omega Syn.
    AS: Nivea Balm
    Bowl: Wooden salad bowl.

The 1st pass, cheek to ear and back, WTG down to "Adam". Then the other side samo, samo. Clean ups with this blade seems to be more intricate and I have to use a small amount of lather. Although it is just as smooth as the 1st shave and seems to be just as sharp. My 5 O` Clock shadow comes around a bit later than usual. I`ll give it a 98% BBS. Satisfied.

Prep: Hot Shower/ Nivea Sensitive Face Wash
    Pre-Shave: Proraso White
    Soap: Stubble Trouble Western Cowboy
Brush: Vie Long Badger/ Horse Mix
    Razor/ Blade: Merkur 1906/ Voskhod (3)
    Astringent: Witch Hazel
    Post-Shave: Nivea Sensitive Balm
    Aftershave: Brut Classic
Very nice shave overall last night. This soap makes a great lather and the post-shave is fantastic. Easy to load up, even with a softer brush like the Vie Long. I enjoy this brush a lot--it is scritchy, but I enjoy it because it adds an exfoliating factor to the shave. I is a small knot but whips up a lather great. Nivea Sensitive Balm also works well. I think the cooling version leaves my skin a tiny bit softer, but this works very well too. Almost to the end of the week!

preidy-For me yes, but it takes a lot of patience to find some at a price that makes it worth it. Some are going as high as $3-$5 each! My New is replated. It was done by Chris at razorplate.com. He does excellent work.
