Ikea has a travel tube perfectly sized for a Simpson Wee Scot. An Omega "Bambino" also fits but unfortunately the handle of the Omega 11047 is just slightly too wide. The Art of Shaving small pure badger brush that comes with the $25 set is manageable if you don't close it completely, the hair rises slightly above the rim of the plastic insert. The vent holes at the top are in the shape of an "S" for Simpson. It comes in a set of two, on the second, the vent holes are in the shape of a "P", presumably for the Plisson version of the Wee Scot. A Palmolive shave stick would not fit. You can find them on the Ikea website under the name "Plats", however they are mislabeled as "salt & pepper shakers".
Nice. It's good to see Ikea jumping into the wetshaving world, albeit so stealthily. Serious business: Cool repurposing, that's one that never occurred to me.
You young Turks go ahead and pay the bucks for the name brand accessories and the old farts like me will just repurpose our prescription bottles.... Please pass the naproxen.... ... To be continued... Don
Or maybe the "P" is the one you keep your prescription in? (while your brush is in your prescription bottle?)
Update - P for Palmolive Shave Stick I had only the nub of a Palmolive Shave Stick when I tried it for fit. Today I received a new one and found it fits perfectly except for the base. Unfortunately there's nothing to hold it closed. Two possible solutions, not exactly elegant, are a rubber band or a piece of tape with the end folded over to make it resealable:
I use pill bottles for holding Arko shave sticks and as a travel holder for brushes. Can you slip your Palmolive tube in a pill bottle and the pill bottle cap will hold everything together.
