Had a great shave last night with this combo of unadulterated manliness... leather...whiskey...and cold hard black oxide steel...yes I'm still talking about the shave...

-Blackbird of course...
-WW Brush
-Astra SP
-Soap Commander drive
-Ellingtons wide eye whiskey cider aftershave

Not quite BBS but still a great shave. Mrs. Obturador really enjoyed it.

Yup I saw your post and just had to get them lol. The quality does look great from the pictures.

 

My first blade broke when I took the head off the razor after about a 5 shaves to give it a clean. It was only snapped in half on one end. I didn't think any more about it. I've used several blades since then and none have broken.

The blade as a Persona which came with the razor. I've since used a couple of Persona blades, a couple of Astra SP blades and a Dorco ST300 with no issues.

 

Never had that issue and i've used several Astra SP blades in mine along with Feather Hi-stainless, PolSilver SI and Voskhod .. i don't see how you'd break a blade in it unless maybe the blade wasn't seated correctly and tightened down

 

It broke all of the way through on the one side, similar to what you try to accomplish when breaking down a DE blade for a shavette. Just that one time, np other issues. Have been using Astra SP and Feathers with no issues.

 

I've been using my BB for over 50 days now and never had a blade break yet.

 

another wonderful shave this morning with my favorite razor in my den, the Blackland Blackbird hand polished by Shane and let me say it's a beauty! every time i pick it up i admire it's good looks, design and quality finish
