Finally got the bird on the grill. The grill temps are reading lower than I was expecting but the internal temp of the meat keeps rising so hopefully it works out.
I acquired a small electric smoker and gave it a go today. Very happy with the results, but already know what I'm liking and not liking in a smoker. Ahhh, what do I cook next?
I don't want to be a jerk to my east coast friends who are still buried in snow...but this weekend, while it was 80's degrees in California, I decided it was time for my inaugural 2016 bbq/smoke. I did about 11 pounds of pork shoulder on a smoker my daughter and I built. 4AM wakeup call to get these babies on but the results were DELISH! Partnered the pulled pork with my wifes delicious cole slaw. 12 hours later
NICE!!! I was out last week with a windchill of 3 degrees. Here's a link to me out in 2 feet of snow! http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/burgers-dogs-brats.16987/ Unless it's a real down pour with rain coming down sideways, I usually don't let the weather stop me.
Just thought I'd share.. Lol in pictures that is.. I got two pork shoulder butts in the smoker.. Gonna make a whole lot of pulled pork!!! arty: It was my sons 13 birthday yesterday and we are having a party tomorrow for him
I started yesterday at 10:30am and finished this morning at 3:30 am. Took longer than expected.. But as I was shredding it in the wee hours of the day. It was delicious !! It shredded easy like paper.. So juicy and so tender.. Can't wait till the party
