PSO, Hot Shower, Nivea Face wash
    Omega 10066 Boar Shaving Brush
    Chiseled Face Midnight Stag soap
Alum, Nivea balm, Chiseled Face Midnight Stag AS
    Doc Elliott's beard balm

Working through a bunch of samples from Route 66 and Chiseled Face. Both are great soaps and have great scents. Except maybe this one. It smells strong in the sample jar, but they say scents change on your skin. This one did too, but I still don't think I care for it. It did lather up great, and I will be buying the CF Ghost Town Barber and Summer Storm, maybe Sherlock, too.

I am trying to take a little extra luxury on Sundays. I did my usual pre-shave oil before getting in the shower, let it soak and steam, washing my face last with Nivia Face Wash. After shower, i added a little more PSO, and the bloom water from the soap. Then I added hot towels for 4-5 minutes. That cleaned off and PSO sitting on my skin. I've found that hurts my lather so I don't leave PSO on most days. Then back to the usual routine. Three pass and cleanup, Alum (no bite at all today), cold rinse, Nivea Balm, Beard Balm and After shave (no sting there either).

Great shave BBS+, one of the best I've done so far. Happy Sunday, go Kenseth!

What is the scent of Midnight Stag? I remembered seeing recently that it was a leathery, masculine scent, perhaps reminiscent of motor oil. Is that anywhere close?

I'm giving my face a rest today, so no shave for me. I'll be back tomorrow with a Menthol Monday addition! Tuesday through Thursday I am planning to use my TSD soap stick to get some more practice with that type of soap and lather application. Plus, you can never go wrong with TSD products!

Hope you guys had a great weekend!

I get a strong scent of rubber, maybe? It's one of those scents, you either like or don't. It's good soap, so I am glad they have several I do like.

Why type of scuttle is that? It looks great.

Thank you, Jim. It's a Becker travel/brush scuttle, and I use it nearly every day. It is the perfect size for me, since I face lather.

Mr. Becker sells on eBay if you're interested in getting one. He's a really nice gentleman. He just made me a couple of others in different colors. They were $28 each, so the price is very reasonable.

I agree it's all Doug's fault. Minding my own business and he twisted my arm. And you know how persuasive Marines can be.

Well, I have to say this in Doug's defense. I complimented him last week on the beautiful Gillette Red Tip he was using. He mailed it to me, and it's on the way now. I'm excited and amazed at his kind generosity.

And now I just want to cover my bases in case anyone else would like to help a brother out. :D

Clint, I love your Alumigoose. It's a real beauty! Ooooh, and that titanium handle really sets it off.

mrchick, I love your Toggle. It's a real beauty! And I kinda like your avatar too.

Doug told me about the Red Tip. All kidding aside I've found Doug to be a very generous and gracious person. Even though I have never met him, I am honored to consider him a friend.

I'm just kidding him. I was itching for a new brush and this was the perfect reason.

Agree! I wouldn't be using and enjoying the Route 66 Lumberjack soap if it wasn't for Doug's generosity at Christmas. He's one of a kind and a true gentleman. :happy088:

I started with Kai Mild and moved up to Feather Pro at first. At this point I wondered what all of the fuss was about with the Mongoose. I got better shaves with my Feather AC SS. Then I saw some of you praise the Feather Pro Super and decided to give them a go before giving up on the Mongoose. I am so glad I did. This is a wonderful combination that is definitely a keeper. Thanks!

I took a few steps back after my painful baby chase with the shavette and feather combo.

    Mystic Waters Lime
    Semogue 1438
    Gillette Super Speed
    Viking Sword (1)
    Citrus Musk

The Mystic Waters soap facelathered into one of the best lathers I am capable of. The SS was, as always, easy and intuitive with an efficient yet mild cut. This was my first shave with the Viking Sword and it was smooth and sharp. I think I'm going to keep this blade and see how long it stays this nice. It wasn't Kai sharp or GSB smooth but it was very nice. I did a slow 2 pass shave ears to center then S/N with some G-slide on the neck for a high grade DFS. I jumped I a coolish shower with mentholated body wash before I even wiped the excess lather off my face. The town I live I must use extra chlorine to keep the pipes from freezing because the tap water stung more then the Citrus Musk I used after the shower. Between the cool water and the menthol in the body wash I was near shivering when I got out. My girlfriend's grandmother's birthday was today so hot water was at a premium. 5 people had to bathe off a 40 gal water heater. She was 76 today and we had a family gathering. A good time (and full stomachs) were had by all.
