If you haven't tried Shave Secret, imagine very light oil in a near Bay Rum scent. By the time I finish the bottle I'll know if I like it. Unsure just yet. Williams lathers well with a badger brush, less so using boar. Despite my low skill level and dubious equipment I got an edge worthy of a shave from this eight dollar, pre-1891, flea market straight. The FatBoy showed up to give a final pass. First use of Clinique Post Shave Healer. It's a creme with little scent, and questionable value. Aloe & alcohol can be had for less coin. I'm fortunate to be among The Chosen, so Pinaud's Finest saved the shave. Good day folks.

 

Quick Shave update...

Let me start by saying Don't Chase the BBS!!

I was so impressed by the slickness of this cream and smoothness of this razor, that it made me overconfident. I started to feel around during my cleanup pass and attacked two small patches on my neck area...big mistake. The tiny bits of stubble were gone, but replaced by weeperville, USA...population 5. I had those tiny blood dots on my neck, but thankfully the myrsol combo came to the rescue. I'm not doing that again...lol.

Good Monday morning everyone. This morning was my first shave with my new to me Black Beauty that I purchased from our member @DLP. I set it to 5 for it's maiden voyage and what a pleasure it was. Very well balanced indeed and the extra long handle really added to the easy maneuverability of this razor. The grip is more than adequate for my taste and it shaves silky smooth guys. If this was Gillette's last or second to last DE they went out nicely. KMF is so underrated, if most people knew just how good it is, it would definitely get more love around here. GSB's always work beautifully in all my razors and Stirling Mita Balm is just an icing on the cake finish every time. Have a great shave and a great day folks.

What a great shave today!!,I bowl lathered the C.O.Bigelow got a thick rich lather,My Old Type And Crown blade smoothly mowed my whiskers down to a BBS Finish.
I've said it before and I'll Say it again no matter what blade I use in this Old Type I get a great Shave with it!

Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Razor: Maggard MR1 handle with V2 open comb
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
Lather: Proraso Green shave soap
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD SubZero aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm
WTG, touch-up

Wow! I don't know if it was the blade, the razor, or the combination of products, but it only took one full pass with touch-up to mow through two fulls days of beard growth. That was quite an enjoyable shave! The menthol from Proraso Green is nice, and then I doubled down with the SubZero splash from TSD. I enjoy the menthol kick on Mondays.
