1. My brushes have been in single stands on my bathroom counter. I was looking for a way to reduce the footprint of my brushes while storing them correctly and as an added feature insure equal rotation in use. Finally, I decided to try this and it seems to answer all the problems.

  2. Class!
  3. Thats a "VERY" trick stand!! Great repurposing..:happy096: What was the stand used for originally?
  4. To hold stamps, like libraries and post offices used to use.
  5. Ohhh ok thanks I see now....It's been along long time since I was in either a library or post office....:)
  6. That's ok, it's been a long long time since libraries and post offices used such stamps.

  7. Nice solution & I like the 'brush rotation' concept being applied literally. This stand allows for it! :happy088:

I liked your idea so much I snagged an old 6-stamp holder and plan to do likewise. Brilliant!
May need a new coating of paint..hammered bronze finish, maybe? Retro cool!

  8. I really like that! NICE!
  9. It must have been before my time, I'm only 55 :p

They look like they make excellent brush holders though. Now everybody's going to be scouring the market for rubber stamp carousels, best to let the feeding frenzy die down before I look for one.

  10. Very cool. Where did you find it?
  11. And I'm only 35. It may be the inability to breath through my nose at this time (stupid sinus infection), but I don't get your joke.

They have been popular brush holders for awhile. Ebay should have several available.
  12. Ebay but then it turned out the woman selling it was my neighbor
  13. Looks like you need some more brushes to fill it up.:)
  14. One slot got taken by my Wee Scott. Never thought it would fit but the little sucker fit right in. A Shavemac Americana will be on it's way Monday according to Bernd. Finally, I am awaiting the release of the new LE Simpson TSN brush promised next week.
I once had a wife who asked me what would I do if I had a million dollars? I mentioned a few things and managed to spend less than half. Then I asked her what she would get? She took a deep breath and spent the million on less than the breath. She then asked me if she could have another million? I feel that way when I see the empty spaces in the carousel.
  15. Somebody on another list just gave me a wonderful suggestion. He suggested covering the metal springs with 3/9 in heat shrink tubing, from Radio Shack, to prevent scratching the handles. I will do it first thing tomorrow.
  16. Ooh I like that!
  17. Perfect.....really dig it. I'm gonna look for one.
  18. The problem is, now you have to fill that stand to make it look its best! ;)
  19. You may want to consider a different way to cover the metal clips. In the past, I've used a product called "Plasti-dip" to create grip
areas on such things as punches, chisels, and other metal working tools. It's a very durable coating product, and you can even create your own colors.
Mayhaps you would prefer black clips for brushes with white handles, etc??

By the way, are those un-used clips for your boar brushes?

  20. Went to Radio Shack. All they had were combination packs assorted sizes. The package had about 8 inches of the size I needed (1/2) in diameter and cost 6.95 a pack. Went on line got 4 feet of 1/2 in from Digi Key for 10.44. Sold all my Boar brushes. I am a bowl latherer. For the times I face lather I find Best Badger to be all the scritch I like. Silvertips are for my scuttle.
