I grew up with it being 'koo-min' (or 'coo-min', if you wish). Put enough on your food, and you yell 'Cooo-eee!'

My family's favorite way to enjoy it is on burgers. Grill up burgers with soy sauce, black pepper and cumin. My family calls them Daddy burgers and they're always a hit.
