  2. Excellent. Eurostuff.
  3. The one in the middle is sweet! Nice buy.
  4. From left to right of new package...
    Semogue 1305, Semogue 2040HD, Semogue 2000
1305: Superior Boar, premium 90% tops. 22mm knot, 55mm loft
    2040HD: Silvertip Badger. 22mm knot, 57mm loft
2000: Super Boar Bristle, 70% tops, 25mm knot, 60mm loft

The % tops represents the percentage of bristle that is full length.
  5. I love that clear portly handle on the one. I think that's the 2040HD. Did you order these direct from manufacturer?
  6. I really like the one in the middle.
  7. Very nice.
  8. I ordered them from the Portuguese factory. I had to email to get converted to USD. Delivery in 8 days, not bad. When converted to USD they add on a couple of dollars to meet Semogue's overseas pricing, but then give a store credit on future purchases....nice

  9. I gave my Semogue 1438 to my cousin when he started wet shaving. My favorite brush, never lost a hair and well broken in.

I immediately ordered an 830 Semogue to replace it. Should be here in a few days. It has 90% tops too. I'm eager to see if I'll like it as well as the 1438.

  10. The 830 was recommended by the Portuguese factory, nice brush
  11. Nice collection.

Ordered an Semogue OC Boar few days ago, and today i received the package.

I think my boar got some problems.
Anyhow, informed the store, they offered me 25% discount on badger one and will pay the difference.

  12. That was good of you and fair of them. If you don't like the badger, I'm sure you'll find someone willing to pay what you did + shipping. :D
I've used it twice so far, and while I'd prefer a slightly shorter loft, I'm pretty happy with it, though I'm thinking about picking up a 620 Semogue for the 5 mm loft difference.

I do like the flatter top on the 830 compared to the 1438, but I miss that extra little tiny bit of backbone. Luckily the 1438 and the 620 use the same knot, from what I've read, so I don't need to look far.
  13. Semogue is sending me, today, a complete list of what types of boar bristle and their % tops which are used to make the different brushes. I will post afterwards.

  14. Now you can still order the SOC boar bristle, can never have too many brushes
  15. It might be this one:

Yea, i think i'll end up doing that, and, maybe, follow mr. PLANofMAN's advice. At first use i find it way too scratchy and it eats up product like it's having a little midget with a huge face that's shaving while i do inside. Will give it a fair break-in period before selling it, maybe the scratchiness will not be so pronounced.
  16. The 2040 is very nice looking and I am confident it will have the always great Semogue knot.
  17. 20150714_185156-1.jpg the Portuguese Factory comes through again in 7 days!
Semogue 620 on left, Semogue 610 on right
  18. Badger's don't get less scratchy with use, unfortunately. Either it has soft tips or it doesn't.
  19. The Semogue 610 is 22/50 knot fearing Best Boar brisle

The Semogue 620 is 22/50 knot featuring Extra boar bristle

Since this is no buy july, they shall stay in container until next month. Had a bonus so total was $17.00 for both, including shipping.
  20. Shaved with the Semogue 2040HD Silver Tip tonight, wonderful brush. Still braking in the 1305, 1800, 2000 & SOC. Then will break in other new boar brushes mentioned above. Working on super review of range of boar brushes offered by Semogue.... soon to come
