Dear Shave Den Friends, Some of you are aware of my wife’s health issues. Gayle was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer four years ago (almost to the day, Feb. 4, 2020). We survived the pandemic, but sadly in the last few months her status declined, and in the last two weeks her downward spiral was simply mind blowing. Gayle passed away Sunday morning at 3:45am. I was alone with her, and held her hand as she took her last breaths. She’s no longer being tortured, abused and ravaged by the disease and its treatments. She is finally at peace. I will check in here periodically, but may not be around much for the next few weeks. Thank you to those of you who’ve offered your cyber support all this time. Enjoy your shaves, and I’ll see you soon. Charlie
Charlie, This is devastating news. I am so very sorry for your loss. Bless her soul. I pray you can find some comfort in that she is now pain free.
Charlie, My heart aches at your loss and I'm praying that God will continue to carry you through. God bless.......
I tell you what, looking back on it, one of the best things in my life that was said to me, when Shawna died, it was said to me "well, at least you don't have to worry about her anymore." At first, it sounded cold, but then, it made so much sense. A few years later, my mother died, and I said to myself the same thing, and all is still well. I hope you too will find solace as well. RIP Gayle.
So very sorry for your loss. May you find peace, comfort, strength, and courage during this time of devastating grief.
