Recently, the italian maker Riccardo Tonarini has experimented hi-tech materials. A SanMai structure, with Carbon Fiber outside. This new line is called Tonarini HiTech. Classic Fluorescent Microtome Kamisori Carbon Ceramic I love the idea of a straight razor with composite materials. Specially the last one, called Mobydick.
Very interesting. Not really a direction I would go myself, but interesting and eye catching nonetheless. So that last one is made with a ceramic core? How does that do for stropping, I wonder...
I've searched about ceramic blade sharpening. https://scienceofsharp.com/2018/02/24/ceramic-blades/ It seems not that easy to have a long-lasting smooth edge. And, It's difficult to put a keen edge more than just sharp.
That's what I would have figured. Interesting idea, but as materials go, it isn't really suited to the task.
