    RAZOR: Star SE
    Blade: CVS "generic" carbon
    Brush: WD Silvertip
    Soap: RazoRock XXX
    AS: Dollar General "Classic"

I finally had success with a SE razor! This razor (generously provided by @Omaney) was something I really wanted to try. But, if you read my earlier post a week or 2 ago, the blades it came with (Try-A-Blade) were extremely rough. At Omaney's recommendation I picked up SE blades at my local CVS. What a difference a blade can make! While it wasn't a BBS the shave was quite close and fairly comfortable. I found that the Star razor makes it really easy to find the correct angle. When I wasn't sure I just placed the head flat against my cheek and started over. I need to "brush up" on my SE technique, but I'm happy a SE razor is now in my rotation. Unfortunately, my RAD is now calling for SE razors....damn!

(I know, wrong soap in pic. But it's the right razor!)

I recently won a PIF from @Redrock which included a stick of La Toja. I have never tried it before, so I decided to give it a go this morning. The La Toja stick is harder than other sticks I have used and it was difficult to get the soap onto my face, requiring a fair amount of pressure. My first impression of La Toja is favorable, as I got a good shave and the lather, while not obviously outstanding in any category, was definitely a good, slick and cushioning lather. 3 passes and nice & smooth.

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock One-X croap
    Razor: Merkur 1904 41c OC
    Blade: Bic (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS splash
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

After a month using the Bamboozled RAKE, I went back to my original DE, the Merkur 41c. I was a little concerned that, because it's milder and smaller than the RAKE, I'd have trouble readjusting, but it was instinctive in my hand. Three comfortable passes, one tiny spot of red on the upper lip, and nearly BBS results, thanks no doubt to the outstanding lather and the sharpness of the Bic blade.

Two passes with the Stirling Black Ice soap cleaned me up very nicely - in fact I was surprised that the SuperMax Blue blade would perform so well today, but it did a great job of giving one last hurrah. The soap lathered awesomely, (it's a brand-new puck!) and gave me very good menthol cooling. Not nearly as strong as what its "cousin" the Glacial Obsidian gives, but still very pleasant.

Nice shave. WSO Zaro is a super soap! My custom Silvertip is a great brush. The SC101 with bamboozle handle works so well for me. Astra SP's are one of those blades that works in all of my DE razors.

Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Tweezerman Badger
Soap - Williams (Seriously...what is this stuff) Mug Shaving Soap
Razor - Vintage Soviet - the "Soyuz 1"
Blade - [IMG](2)Post - Alum, Nivea Replenishing Post Shave Balm

Day two on the Zaza. I know that some blades improve on their second shave so I was wondering if this one would. Nope. Nada. Nothing. Oh, sorry....NYET! There we go. I can't say the blade doesn't work because you can eventually grind down the stubble. I will say that I believe I have a DFS today......barely. It took three full passes and some Gillette Sliding on my neck (which isn't the same with the Soviet and Zaza) but I got there. Once again the Williams just perplexed me. I added more water today, really whipped those suds up (can't really call it lather) and went to town face lathering after doing all I could in the Old Spice mug. Once again the first pass wasn't too terrible but each pass after just dissipated away. If you can't shave fast you won't have anything left before you finish!

Alum was a bit noisy due to the extra effort I put in but the Nivea cooled it back down. Glad I bought that for this month!

I think tomorrow I'll switch to the Rapira just to give it a shot with this blade. No blood or other problems with the Soyuz 1 so I'll see if I can stay that way with the Rapira. As for the Williams........I'm going to do some research on it and see what I may be missing. I know the Tweezerman isn't really helping my cause but I'll stick with it and see what I can do.

    Hi Friends,

hope all of you are fine and you´re doing well. :) Here is my Sunday shave:

Bethlehem Olivewood w. Mühle Black Fibre knot / iKon S3S head with Jürgen Hempel handle / Feather / Calani Earl Grey shaving soap / Majestät Aftershave

Nice and relaxed. The soap is a heavenly summer scent, even it is raining like hell and the sky is grey (nearly black) here...:( Loaded with my Feather the shave was smooth and gentle. The combination of head and handle is fantastic. A real Heavyweight!!! The soap is complimenting very well with the Aftershave. Top notch!!!

Have a great time, stay healthy and enjoy your shaves.

    Greetings
    Thorsten
