Hi Blair. Thanks for the kind words. It's great to see you back in these parts.

I love vehicles with a great story, and your Ford definitely qualifies. 350K and still going strong is just plain awesome! My Dad had several Ford pick 'em ups, and I learned to drive a 4-speed on the street in his 1972 F-250 when I was 11 years old. Fun times.

It was pretty easy in our early days to put miles on cars when we did 80-mile round trips to work.

The most miles I've ever put on a car was 325K. It was a Plain Jane Toyota Corolla. Aside from normal maintenance items, I had to replace the 5th gear and the alternator. It still ran great when I passed it on, but it could have used some valve work and was slowly losing the war to rust. I also lost the war with my Bride and had to get rid of it. :)

I also rolled up almost 200K on a school bus-yellow stripped down Ford Escort with black vinyl interior and NO a/c. At least it had a built-in 8-track tape player. This was our unofficial "truck" because it had a hatchback. I got in trouble with my Bride twice...once for hauling a bale of straw in the back with the windows open and covering every square inch of the interior with bits and pieces of straw...and another time for hauling a very fragrant animal carcass off our property without having the windows open long enough.... I've since mastered the fine art of vehicle ventilation. :)

I've had a fleet of other Toyotas with plenty of miles on them....but they're just not as much fun to talk about. I ended up gifting them to family members before they made too many trips around planet Earth, rusted out, or began to look socially unacceptable. In these later days, my Bride has come to enjoy vehicles with leather seats, moon roofs, and enough controls to keep a driver and 3 passengers busy. She no longer wants to drive a car where it is required to warm up the seat with one's own "seat," shift anything more than from Park to Drive, or "feel the road." :happy102:

I love them 7.3s! I had a 97 F250hd and it would happily tow anything I through at it, although the transmission would get so hot sometimes the heat would radiate up from the floor. Lol

Joe, the razor is gorgeous and I love the purple scales.

I just realized that both our razors are 1000 editions! How cool is that!

Lovely scent from the MDC. I Think the TI could use a touch up. I’m thinking about taking it to the 1u and then 0.3u film and see if that wakes up the edge a bit. Looks like I’ll be able to get 3 uses out of each SV aftershave sample so they should carry me through the rest of the month.

 Impressive! In college I had a hand me down Volvo diesel with 200+k. Ran great but was slow, when you stepped on the gas the only thing that happened was a huge cloud of back smoke behind the car.

Big razor week is back on track..... but this razor seems scrwany compared to Arty. Today's razor is an 8/8 Osiris with a 1/4 hollow grind. New to the den Cavendish CK-6 formula, it real does remind me of pipe tobacco. My old school Rooney is a favorite of mine and mathced the color of the soap. For the frag heads, vintage Antaeus.

16. No shave yesterday as we had a bank holiday! It did rain all day as all bank holidays do in the UK.

Today
R41
Arco soap
Yaqi 28
Trumpers Sandalwood

I followed the advice of Trigger and added more water to the Arco. This was great advice (thank you!) much slicker lather much smoother shave, better glide and better shave angle.

Result = silky smooth shave

Very little Alun feedback.
