I stopped by the Simpsons site this afternoon to peruse the Black Friday offers and saw that they've just released a new line of synthetics. 3 size knots in handles similar to the Classic or duke styles. Much more moderately priced than the Duke & Chubby 2 synthetics. I put one of the smallest ones, the 23mm, in my shopping cart along with an Astor in Best. I'm happy to see this. By selling synths as Dukes & Chubbys Simpsons painted themselves in a corner in terms of price. Although I own and enjoy 2 synthetic Chubbs and a synthetic Duke I thought from the beginning that Simpsons would have been better served if they created new names for synthetics, which would allow them to sell them for much less than say a Duke. They really couldn't call something a Duke and then charge 15 quid for it without raising eyebrows. Now I think they've finally freed themselves from that problem. So I wish them the best of luck with their new "Trafalgar" brushes and I look forward to owning one.
There's also this one: https://www.simpsonshavingbrushes.c...s/sale-the-petrol-head-iom-tt-limited-edition The "Petrol Head" and the Trafalger 2 share the same knot diameter, 24mm, but the Petrol Head has a 55mm loft vs the 44mm loft of the Trafalgar. Those Trafalgar's are sounding more and more like my cup of tea.
