Tonight I did my first ever DE shave thanks to Linuxguile and the fine people in this forum. I'm not bleeding so I guess that's a plus. I first went with the grain, then across then against lathering each time. It wasn't until going against the grain that I realized to get a good lather you need to really work the brush. As soon as I did the lather exploded on my face. It will take some time to get the angle down, there is some irritation but no more than with a disposable but, this is the first time I've really ever enjoyed a shave. Before this, it was just a chore. Thank You to everyone here who has taken the time to answer any questions or give advice. I'm glad to have started my journey here.
Yes, the journey and begun. Remember light touch, no pressure. I have settled on cold water and face lathering in my journey. I find that shaving every day two passes is all I need. Many happy shaves.
Congrats. Enjoy your shaves. There will be ups and downs. Lol no pun there.. But I've come to enjoy all my shaves even the bad ones. It makes the journey much more enjoyable.

It sounds like you had a much better first shave then I did. You're off to a great start and have chosen an excellent community to aid you in your quest of the perfect shave.
Congrats on the first shave. As others have said, it sounds like you got a better shave for your first time than many of us did.
