Scales will be mammoth ivory, tang covering will be green abalone to bounce with the gold wire inlays :).

No. I have only two, so I understand using the same straights over and over. Lucky I guess, no SRAD for me because of NB16.

Although we do cater to the 'short attention span—'whats the next newest blade' group here (of which I'm a member :D,) I'm all for seeing whatever works for people.
I think I posted pics of my one-and-only straight, a Böker, for seemingly endless weeks when I first began SR shaving.

I have seven razors out getting worked on now, and will be sending a few more out as I work through my pile of "beyond my ability and/or attention span" razors. I imagine there will be a big variety of razors in the next few months, so I am going to finish off February with this one.

So, I've been practicing my SR shaving this week. Since I don't have time in the morning to do a SR shave, I've practiced shaving with it in the evening. I've had mixed results... until tonight!

My cheeks, neck and over the lip are close to a DFS. I can't say the same about my chin, but it is improving.

I'll use my DE razor in the morning as usual, but I'm fairly clean shaven right now.

Anyway, I think I'm beginning to like SR shaving and I think I could get used to it!

Dang, Mike ! Those are some fancy-sounding $cales!
I've seen knife handles of the mammoth....not SR scales, though.
    Purdy!

I also shave in the evening, peace and quiet when the day is done is best for my skill level. So glad to hear of your success!

I don't mind seeing the same razors every day and everyone here will likely see my only SR for at least the next few weeks.

Continuing on the same train of thought— at least until it gets derailed— I find that when I go back to using a DE razor, I miss the process or ritual of the straight razor shave.
No prep of the razor (okay, maybe a new DE blade), but there's no linen then leather strop, testing the edge against our thumb for reassuring keenness, the careful plan of attack, and then the well thought-out process of paying strict attention to what EXACTLY I am doing the entire time...well-focused and attentive. DE shaving is faster, granted, and the results are very good. But the overall shave experience lacks something I gain from the whole SR process.
