Shave Secret & Scraps of Strop Shoppe Samples Vulfix 660S & Casual Elegance Stoneware bowl Dueling Fat Boys sharing a Rapira SSS blade Alum block and Pinaud Lilac Vegetol One day the last Gillette model 195 will cease functioning. Today is not that day. One of these is staying in my den, the other going to my younger brother soon. Same goes for the Special Edition tallow soap from the now defunct Strop Shoppe line. Use em if ya gotta em, men! It's good to be Chosen. And The Veg isn't bad, either.
The idea of menthol in my shave intrigues me. What would be a good way to try it to see if I like it? In the soap, after shave balm or?
February Focus - German blades DONE! Best of the Best to the Finish! February 26 Razor - '59 Gillette Super Speed Blade - (2) Brush - BoS Omega 10066 Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat Post - Cold rinse, Alum, Nivea, The Veg Second and final day on the blade. Two day quick hits are a bit strange to me. Just feel like I'm getting warmed up and it's time to change. BoSFat for the fantastic lather. I soaked the puck with more water than last time, well what remains of the puck. Seems like that got it working better on the ring of death. Two passes to a very nice DFS again. Still great audio feedback with the carbon blade even on one day growth. Did a few spots ATG and got very close to the baby. I'll take it. Off to work and, now, at the end of the day, I can say that the shave was the high point of the day. It was all downhill from there. Tomorrow's a new day though. And, I'll be starting with my '47 Super Speed and Feather blade. Should be a great start.
Good morning TSD - I just had my first Straight "shave" ever - Mitchell's Wool Fat - The Grosvenor "Finest" - T.W. Lang "The Gaelic" 11/16 followed by - Gillette Slim Adjustable/Polsilver SI - Tüff sensitiv Rasierwasser I bought this beauty on Ebay a few weeks ago and a guy from the German wet shaving forum honed it for me. Since this was my "maiden voyage" with this razor I started very cautiously ... and that might have been the reason why this first time felt a little tuggy and bumpy. I did not use any pressure at all (just as I got used to with most of my safety razors) but I guess you have to work differently with a Straight, a little more boldly and vigorously. And maybe I did not get the angle quite right. On the plus side: I performed a WTG pass on both of my cheeks (with change of hands) and managed to not cut or nick myself. For the rest of my shave (neck and complete second pass), which ended almost BBS (with the exception of one spot on my chin), I used my birth quarter Slim on 7.

Went with IB Milionario today. Such a creamy, rich, luxurious smelling soap, with such nice glide. The Muhle R41 continues to amaze me providing an effortless dolphin smooth shave with the Ladas blade which felt silky smooth. The icey goodness of Stirling Mita balm has been my preferred finish as of late and today was no different. Have a great shave and a great day folks.
