I'll start off the new week with a frigid, tear-jerking setup! Menthol Monday: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Razorock Plissoft 26 mm Synthetic Junjie/new Astra Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill SS Diana Menthol Balm Barrister & Mann Arctique AS Grey Flannel EdT I don't think it could get too much colder than this because I'm really throwing my main Menthol Heavy Artillery in to this shave. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap is so bitterly-cold, and as soon as you start lathering it up the freeze hits you. The longer it stays on your face, the colder it seems to get. The Diana balm is another bona-fide face-freezer with good moisturizing, and the Arctique can just about kill a polar bear. This Junjie razor seems to give pretty good shaves, and I'm in love with my new Plissoft brush!
Planed SOTD for Feb. 29th Merkur Futur/Setting 5.5/Voskhod (1) JR #23 Silvertip Brush Catie's Bubbles La Terre Verte (LTV) Maggard Alum Block The Veg Still not feeling 100% so I will be giving my face a break from the usual face freezing punishment I give it every Monday.
February 29 Weber PH Feather (2) Kent BK4 silvertip badger Route 66 Lumberjack Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Fine Platinum Have a great Monday!
Razor - Gillette Tech pre 52 triangular slot base Canada Brush - custom with sunrise synthetic knot Had a wedding reception to attend last night. Needed a smooth shave with little drama and knew to call up the early triangular base Tech razor. Rare four pass with zero issue. Slick as ice and dolphin smooth.
Marrakesh Monday! Going to give this new sample a whirl tomorrow. The scent is complex and I can't wait to give it a bowl lather to see how it blooms and changes. I just noticed that I'm creeping up on my shave den anniversary...whoo hoo.
Monday's TESC Pre-Shave Oil Proraso Green Shaving Soap Semogue Owners Club Gillette Blue Tip Astra SP CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Aqua Velva Ice Blue Today marks the end of my Proraso Green. I purchased it April 30, 2012. It had a long run. The Proraso Green Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Semogue Owners Club boar brush. Two passes with my new Gillette Blue Tip razor and a Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
I like that Blue Tip, Jim! I don't have any vintage razors yet but I think the Blue Tip would be a top choice of mine for when it's time. I've seen a few Blue Tips the past week or so in the SOTD thread.
Planned Monday SOTD Schick type F razor Schick blade - Holland L'Occitane Cade rich shaving cream L'Occitane Cade aftershave balm L'Occitane Cade EdT I realized while posting that I forgot to choose a brush for tomorrow.....
That is kind of funny. It has been my latest acquisition. I have over 50 razors and most of the SuperSpeed models, but the Blue Tip had evaded me. I finally got it in a trade. I am very pleased to have it in my collection now. It is one of the good ones.
Nice Black & white Rodger. At first glance I was thinking of a certain Mickey Lee Soap theme(PD) then I saw the Cade soap and AS balm.
Muhle R106 Personna platinum Simpson Colonel - Manchurian Tabac soap Lucido splash Oops...this is my Sunday shave.
