  1. LOVE that brush handle from yesterday's shave! Reading all these great posts makes me want to get out my G1!
  2. The Coated blades don't rust....and the carbons will last for like 3 shaves if you....Rinse, Dry, dip in alcohol and put a drop of baby oil on each side of the edge...then store in a dry place.....sounds like alot of maintenance but it's still a whole lot less than a str8 for a similar quality shave....But the stainless'es are maintenance free....
  3. In the last couple of days the mailman has brought me several wedge blade SE's, so today was my first shave with this one.

    Henkels Twinworks Rapide
Henkels wedge blade, freshly honed & stropped
Muhle HJM synthetic black fiber brush
    Haslinger Schafmilch soap
    4711 aftershave & cologne

The Henkels Rapide is perhaps the best known of the Rapides, being introduced around 1911 when the original 1891 Ernst Scharff patent expired. I decided to use all German products with it this morning. The blade that came with the razor showed very little signs of use, and I had honed it last night. The Henkels blade is made of excellent steel and it took a fine edge, resulting in an outstanding shave. I've been using a Mongoose off and on over the past few weeks, and I have to say that today's shave was every bit as close as those with the Mongoose, yet smoother. I can get a really close shave with the 'Goose, but I end up with a weeper or two if I let my attention wander the least bit. No weepers today.

  4. Since I'm doing an injector focus this month, I figured that it would be a good idea to put them all in one place. It's no wonder my wife rolls her eyes when I tell her I need another one

No shim today. Less aggressive, but not a lot. Great BBS shave. This is fast becoming my favorite SE. A beauty!!

  15. Cool. I ordered some coated blades from Bullgoose today... And I won this on eBay for $10. I really just wanted a case for my OCMM, but I'll clean up this razor and see what I've got.

  19. Very nice injector collection.
I noticed you do not have a PAL Injectomatic. Have you ever tried one? That is one of my favorite injectors. Except my bunny:).
