  9. Sandalwood Wednesday
This soap has a nice warm scent, especially when lathered as it was with my Brothers Bristles Spartan Bronze brush. The OCMM was not as smooth as yesterday, but still better with this coated blade than otherwise. At this point, I don't think the OCMM would replace my Futur, but I'm glad to broaden my horizons. I finished up with VY Shuyak Island for some cooling on what will be a very warm spring day.
    Prep: Van Yulay PSO
    Soap: Reef Point Sandalwood
    Brush: BBSB
    Razor: Gem Open Comb MicroMatic

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Voshkod (2)
Razor: Maggard MR1 with V2 open comb
    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Lather: Soap Commander Vision
Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced Old Spice knock-off, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

    Cold Water.jpg

Pretty good CCS this morning. Not my best or most comfortable shave ever, but nothing to really complain about either. I caught myself using too much pressure on my jaw and chin area and ended up with a small nick. Nothing bad - witch hazel and cold rinses took care of it.

I like the Voshkod blade and continue to like the V2 open comb. That will be the last use of the Vision scent. It was a sample and I got probably 10 shaves from it. There was still a little remaining but I decided to toss it in favor of one of the new samples, probably Endurance.

I am still experimenting with cold water shaves but will say that my face feels better overall after shaving with cold water. The tender areas of my neck feel much better than with hot or warm water. So I might be a convert!

    Have a good day everyone!

  18. That is a very good strategy. I admire that. May I ask why 90 days? When I have watched videos people usually say "at least 100shaves".

Who is honing your straight razors?

Wow! What a shave this morning!
    Prep: warm wash with Kirk's
    Lather: Route 66 Lumberjack
    Brush: RazoRock Plissoft
    Razor: Blackland Blackbird
    Blade: Feather (3)
    Post: Avon Island Lime

3 passes and BBS! Everything worked just great. The soap was amazing, the brush made the lather just right, the Feather blade was smooth and effective in the Blackbird and a citrus finish with the Island Lime was just right. I hope you had this good of a shave!
