  7. So, I ordered these:

    ...but got this:

One is the traditional gray and the other one is, as I think @Sabre guessed, yellowed-gray (sun, etc).

Now, in his defense...I tried taking photos of them and they do come out white and gray in photos for some reason.
To add insult to injury one of them has a broken cartridge release button.

These were $3 and I might just suck it up as a learning experience in 'always ask questions especially if you're doubting things like the colors'.
He did say they were both ready to be used...I might ask for a $1.50 refund...

I do have a very, very white Wilkinson (sample model) so I know they exists...but I might file 'Yellow ones" under not-likely now.

  8. I am not being smug, but I think you have possibly been a bait and switch victim as the eject button is not broken in the original photo. How bad was the packaging?

  9. Actually the packaging was ok.
The button is not visibly broken but when you depress it it doesn't move. It seems stuck. The other one works fine (I tried it on a cartridge and it works fine).
Yeah not sure what happened...and at this point I've spent over $3 worth of brain cells on it so maybe I should just accept that I got a gray one that works (I didn't have one actually) - and call it a day :)

  10. You don't really need an eject button, as can be seen with the demonstrator. So it's a PIF or garbage :( ...
  11. Damn it now you're making me go fish it out of the bin in the morning!

  12. I also received another package that I am a bit torn about.

    a) I love the razor and it looks better than it did in the photos.
It's the last Wilkinson T70 model, that I know of, that I didn't have. The razor and the hinged box is in excellent condition.

So "happy, happy..." but....still not completely..., because

    b) When I bought it from the seller in Germany the shipping was stated to be EUR 20 and shipped through DHL.
I tried contacting the seller 4-5 times through eBay AND through an email he had in his ad as I wanted to see if there was a lower cost shipping option as it seemed high.
I received no replies..and ended up paying the EUR 20 in shipping (the razor itself was EUR 1).

When the razor arrived it was popped into a regular envelope that had torn open and it was pure luck that the razor had not fallen out of it.
The stamps shows a total shipping cost of EUR 3.70 - and DHL was certainly not used.

So...I got a great looking razor but feel ripped off on the shipping cost.
I doubt contacting the seller will result in a reply so this weekend I think I'll file a claim with eBay to see if there is anything they can do as the whole thing doesn't sit quite right with me.

  13. That sucks I hope they are able to help you out.
  14. 20 € for shipping is ridiculously high. What's interesting: DHL is basically a subsidiary of Deutsche Post, but their international package shipments are much more expensive than international shipments via Deutsche Post.

When I ship something to the US I send small packages via Deutsche Post. Up to approx 4 by 6 inches in size and 500g weight they charge 3,70 without tracking, 6,20 as registered mail with tracking.
Edit: And that's what your seller used to ship the razor (3,70 Euro stamps on the envelope). I guess he just mixed up DHL and Deutsche Post, since they are commonly referred to as one company over here. In any case the packaging could have been better. He still overcharged you then

Basic DHL international package is € 16 plus € 3,20 if I want insurance. I'd be crazy to use that ;)

So for future trades with high shipping cost from Germany: Just drop me a note, if I can be of assistance, I will.

  16. That Wilkinson T70 deserves a WOW button!
  17. The original price was exceeding good, unless you missed typed ...
  18. My latest arrivals. A RazoRock synthetic and a Rapira Leader razor and carts. The packaging wasn't up to L'Occitane standards, but I was very impressed with actual brush considering the purchase price :) ...
