  2. Seems like it was just yesterday that my oldest finally learned to ride her bike without training wheels. Actually, it was yesterday. Here she is last night in a near miss with the ice cream truck.

So today, what's she been wanting to do ALL DAY LONG? Yeah, so I'm out all day (off and on) with her on my bike. Decent exercise, finally, after being cooped up.

Anyway, someone way up the street had this sitting out with a FREE! sign on it. It was dusty and spidery from storage, had flat tires and needed chain lube and a spitshine, but after all that it turns out to be in primo condition (and fire engine red but still the same girl's model). Will save me about $100 in a few months when she's too tall for the kiddie bike she has now. And THAT beats any other find I might have had today.

Well, except the long lost prototype Gillette Ambassador I found in the sewer, but that's a long story.
  3. Nice write up and she looks like she's really burning some rubber past that ice cream truck! :)

  4. She hasn't had the necessary wipe-out yet, but it's coming.

  6. Went antique hunting today with wife. Nice haul and found my first PAL injector.
Two flair tips and other brass razor are made in England. Paid $15 for FB 1958 and $5-$12 each for others. The injector is a E2 with a different handle from the butterscotch that I normally see.
Found a blade sharpener that I want to play with for $15. Saw some nice straights but don't know anything about them. Just recall one called Wade and Butcher I believe. Found another heavy brass spray nossle for $12 also. Fun day.

  10. That a brassy Rocket that Rob snagged there, or a SS with a case of the drop?
  11. Dollar Tree has been carrying blue bars of Brut soap, which have been kinda meh. Today they had GREEN ones. I bought a pack, opened it at home and man oh man is it the true Brut wonderfulness. I know that only I and possibly Steve will be interested but it is the dead on Brut scent. Going to be stocking up before it's gone (gotta try it as shave soap, too).
  12. Ended up at four places that had finds. A few others were duds. The smallest places are the most fruitful. Guess the larger places get picked over.
