  1. Interesting. How do they fair in an injector despite being thinner than actual injector blades?

  3. My friend, how's the best way to describe the Ozark Mountain's scent?
  4. I forgot to correct that, but hey, what the Chiseled Face, y'know? :)

  5. A woodsy, smoky, spicy, mountain-inspired fragrance. Hope this helps Jeff...it's one of those soaps that just comes alive brilliantly when the brush and water meet it. :)
  6. sounds nice already!
  7. Helps VERY much and I thank you! :)
  8. Good to know.:happy088:

  11. I called last November my "Science Month". Did I do anything about it? Yes, if the Golden State Warriors play their home games in Newark, NJ!! I now plan to try to rebound from my error, with "Science Fortnight", as I close out the month of March in my shaving "lab". By April around here, there should be a touch of spring, so as I can have a plan in mind. But until then, it's a "mix&match" fortnight. It begins with:

    Wednesday's Planned Shave
    Prep-Dial 4 Men(in hot shower)
    Cream-Rise Super Foam
Razor Gillette Sensor 2 Pivot + DisposeABLE( no science with this baby)
A.S.-Wind Drift by English Leather(via Mem Co.)
  12. SOTD March 15, 2016

    Razor - PAL injector (U.S.)
    Brush - Semogue 820
    Soap - Proraso sensitive
Pre - Soap Works Clay Bar
Post - TBS Cocoa Butter Baton

    image.jpeg
First shaves with a recent PAL injector find. Used a Ted Pella aka Personna blade.
Lighter weighted feel than Schick E or G's. Close efficient shave but not as aggressive as a E2.
Nice shaving device intuitive angle. Notice brass quality on older Schick like E's are hard to beat. Not sure when these were made.

    ZCOLDWATER.jpg

    TESC Pre-Shave Oil
    Arko Stick
    Jayaruh #54 synthetic
    Schick M2 Adjustable
    Personna
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Florida Water

Arko Stick Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #54 synthetic brush. Two passes with my Schick M2 Adjustable razor and a Personna blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Florida Water After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
  14. That sounds a bit like the Chisteled Face items, where you have smoky/woodsy combined with menthol.

  15. Jeff,
The biggest drawback of menthol...watery eyes!
Do your eyes water as much as mine are as I Titanic my way through a puck of mentholated Williams soap. I added 7g of menthol crystals to a then puck weighing about 140g. I probably have 3-4 shaves worth of soap remaining and it's as eye-wateringly (sic) strong now as it was the first day. If I choose to repeat the process, I will cut the menthol crystals down to 3g and add a drop or two of eucalyptus oil.
  16. Bill,
I really enjoy the daily news articles, A great flash back from a time long a go.

  17. My friend, if you want to know about a soap which can cause your eyes to tear then try any one of the Glacials. Except for the Cryogen, no other soap has ever done this to me - not even the Yeti Snot. The first time I ever used one of these soaps I had my doubts that I would be able to do even an entire first pass. My face felt like it was being frozen by liquid nitrogen and my eyes were tearing almost from the get-go not to mention how my nose was running. Rod did something to these soaps last year which increased the freezing effect and they now feel every bit as cold as the Cryogen with MUCH better lather and skincare, as well as retaining their beautiful scents. Wenn man Menthol liebt sind diese Seifen absolut prima sowie Spitzenklass! ;) ;) ;)
  18. SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20160315_181650.jpg

    Prep: Musgo Real classic
    Razor: Gillette superspeed flair tip
    Blade: Gillette Goal (1st shave)
    Brush: RazoRock plissoft
    Soap: Musgo Real Shaving Puck

    Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman
    Balm: MLS Italian Stallion

2 pass shave today. This Musgo Real shaving soap has made its way to the top 5 soaps. Excellent lather that is very slick, and has that great classic Musgo scent. The Gillette Goal seemed to be a sharp blade so far. Got a DFS with little irritation. Finished with MLS Italian Stallion and Clubman. Hope everyone had a great shave!
