SOTD March 19, 2016 Schick Saturday Prep: Warm shower Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick G1 injector Brush: Trader Joe's synthetic Lather: TSD Tabac-type (sample) Post: Witch hazel splash, Country Club Sweet Water after shave, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, XTG, touch-up Really close shave with the G1 injector. This little razor looks quite innocuous but is a tool to be respected. No nicks or weepers today. I had one little area right under my nose that felt a little raw, but it was okay in the end. I did two passes with touch-up today as I had more time. I would qualify this shave as DFS. There is only little area under my jaw around the point of the chin that could've used more touch-up. The TSD Tabac-type soap was fantastic. I'm really bad at describing scents and I couldn't really put a finger on the main scent of this one. It was a little powdery? I enjoyed it immensely. The consistency of the lather is thick and yogurty, the slickness is great, and the protection is top-notch. I could only use TSD soaps and be happy. I need to get some more. I'm trying to go with longer strokes as I shave. My previous technique was shorter strokes, perhaps two or three inches long. I've switched to a long stroke all the way down my face (on the first pass) and then back to the top of the lather and pull straight down again without stopping. I hope you all enjoy your Saturday!

This weekend is a busy weekend for me. NASCAR is in town and we are day 2 for our three day events!! Loving it! My SOTD Prep - hot shower Razor - aristricrat Blade - Israel store brand Brush - trader joes synthetic Soap - trader joes Post - witch hazel, trader joes balm 3 passes with a light touch and I'm freaking smooth. Wasn't chasing, just trying to get as smooth as possible without irritation and I got that. I cleaned a few spots but stopped when a couple of weepers appeared.. This razor and blade combo is great. Happy shaving gents!!
Two shaves to post - yesterday and today Friday: hot shower w/San Francisco Soap Co Coconut Mango bar soap Maggard Grapefruit PSO Gillette Aristocrat 2+ passes Gillette Silver Blue (2) Omega Ready boar TSD Mango Coconut soap Thayers unscented w/aloe TSD Mango Coconut A/S milk Just an average shave. Despite lots of fellow denizens touting GSB's, I only seem to get an average shave from them. They're not awful or anything, they just aren't in my top 10. But as always, YMMV. Saturday: hot shower w/Brut bar soap ShaveSecret PSO Schick N1 2+ passes Schick (1) BurmaShave boar VDH Unscented soap in a warm mug Thayers unscented w/aloe Brut A/S balm Brut A/S It's rare that I shave two days in a row since my beard just doesn't grow that fast but I have to play dress up both tonight and tomorrow afternoon so I'll probably even consider another light shave tomorrow as well. First run with the N1 and I have to say its quite mild, maybe too mild. We'll give it a few more shaves before deciding if it stays in the rotation. I had so much Brut (I even scented my unscented VDH puck) that I thought I might be stinky but I took it very easy with the A/S and the wife said it was quite tolerable and even pleasant.
March 19,2016 Razor(s): Gillette SS /Atra Cart. Blade: Personna Blue (6) Brush VDH Badger Soap: Italian Barber Pre Shave oil:Homemade AS: Dove. Men + Care Newspaper: Medford Mail Tribune Dec.6,1943 Something a little(?) different this morning. The Italian Barber lathered up so nice. Started ATG for the 1st pass. As usual my SS performed flawlessly, leaving a thin slick film, which i removed with the Atra cart, which in turn set up my "beard" for a WTG that achieved a true BBS. Miraculous shave! Got those several difficult spots that I`ve had so much trouble with. Talking about a happy camper................... I are one! May all be so lucky, God Bless. Thank you, Charlie! Bill

I loved today's shave. I broke out the D and had the most wonderful shave with it. Probably the best yet with this razor. Unbelievably smooth, great reduction. End result was smooth, smooth, smooth in every way. Nothing but face rubbing goodness. Hi Roby, again i learned something new. Palmolive sounds very interesting and i had been looking at some of evah`s razors on the web. Is there a certain one you would suggest( of course I`m old enough to make up my own mind) but advice always helps. BTW, nice layout. Happy shaving. Bill
